TRAVELLING ON YOUR OWN A large proportion of our passengers travel alone and object to expensive "single room" supplements. Please indicate this on your booking form (share twin-bedded room) and we will accommodate you with a person of the same sex also travelling alone and would also like to share a room. If we are unable to accommodate you in a shared twin, we will place you in single room at only half the cost (50%) of the usual single supplement. Our itinerary Day 1, Monday 20th March DEPARTURE TO THE HOLY LAND We gather at Manchester International Airport and check-in for a morning flight to Tel Aviv. On arrival at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airportwe will be greeted by our guide and then driven north to Galilee. We will drive across the Jezreel Valley, the biblical scene of Armageddon and onto the town of Nazareth where Jesus grew up and check-in to our Christian run guest house in good time for dinner. Overnight stay in Nazareth

Day 2, Tuesday 21st March ACRE - HAIFA - CARMEL -TIBERIAS This morning we leave our hotel and drive to the Mediterranean coast line to Caesarea Maritima to visit this beautiful Roman and Crusader Port City. View the ancient harbour, fortifications, twin water aqueducts and theatre. Paul was imprisoned here for almost two years before his trial in Rome. For Christians it is a place of great significance, as it was here that Peter baptised the first Gentile, Cornelius the Roman Centurion. We then continue through Haifa and up Mount Carmel to visit Mukhraqa, where Elijah defeated the prophets of Ba’al and we then proceed to meet our friends close by. After a break for lunch we return to Nazareth and our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Nazareth.

Day 3, Wednesday 22nd March JESUS’ GALILEAN MINISTRY After breakfast we begin exploring the sites connected with Our Lords Ministry. We board a boat and sail on the Sea of Galilee to Ginosar where we will have an opportunity visit a small museum that houses a Galilean fishing boat from the time of Jesus. We then drive to Tabgha to visit the Church of the Loaves and

Day 3 continued Fishes and the Church Primacy of Saint Peter, before continuing to the summit of the Mount of the Beatitudes, which overlooks the places where Jesus lived and worked. We then proceed to the ancient fishing village of Capernaum, the centre of Jesus Galilean Ministry, to view the House of Peter and a partially reconstructed 4th century synagogue with foundations that date back to the time of Jesus and is probably the site where Jesus often preached. After a break for lunch we leave the lake and drive up into the Golan Heights to visits Caesarea Philippi (Banias), a source of the River Jordan and the place where Jesus walked with his disciples. It is also the place where Peter made his great profession of faith in Jesus (Matthew 16:13 "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."). We return to our lakeside hotel dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4, Thursday 23rd March MOUNT TABOR - NAZARETH - CANA - BAPTISMAL SITE After breakfast we drive to the summit of Mount Tabor to visit the Basilica, which commemorates the Transfiguration of Jesus before Peter, James and John. On descending the mountain we proceed to Nazareth, the town where Jesus grew up, to visit the Church of the Annunciation, Mary's Well and the Old SynagogueChurch. After a break for lunch we drive to the village of Cana to visit the church which commemorates Jesus’ First Miracle - the changing of water into wine at a wedding feast. We then return to Tiberias and proceed to Yardenit, where we will have an opportunity to renew our baptism vows. Return to our hotel Dinner and overnight by Galilee.

Day 5, Friday 24th March JACOB’S WELL - DEAD SEA - MASADA We leave Galilee after an early breakfast to travel south. We drive into Samaria (subject to local conditions permitting) to visit Jacob’s well, the site where Jesus met the Samaritan woman and said to her “Everyone who drinks this water will

be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst” (John 4: 7, 9-18). From Nablus we join the Jordan Valley and travel south passing Jericho where we will stop briefly for a view of the Monastery that is built on the site of the cave where Jesus fasted for Forty Days and Nights. We will drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Mount Masada. We ascend the summit by cable car to visit Herod’s stepped Palace complex. It was on this flat-topped mountain that the Jewish Partisans committed mass suicide during the Jewish revolt against Rome. Afterwards we will have the opportunity to bathe in the unique mineral laden waters of the Dead Sea. We will then enter the Ein Gedi Nature reserve visit Nahal David, the water Fall near the cave where David hid from Saul, before returning north along the Dead Sea towards Jerusalem and check-in to our Bethlehem hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Bethlehem.

Day 6, Saturday 25th March MOUNT OLIVES - MOUNT ZION - BETHLEHEM After breakfast we drive to the summit of the Mount of Olives and begin our walk down Olivet visiting the Church of Dominus Flevit, the church which commemorates the site where Jesus wept over the destruction of the Temple, Pater Noster, the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane. We then drive across the Kidron Valley and up Mount Zion to visit the traditional site of the Room of the Last Supper, The tomb of King David, and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. View the recently excavated Roman pathway and steps that Jesus would have walked down. After a break for lunch we drive visit the garden Tomb for Communion. In the afternoon we return to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity, the Grotto, venerated as the birthplace of Jesus and the Shepherds Fields. We then continue to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Bethlehem.

Day 7, Sunday 26th March THE OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM We begin our day with worship, then start our tour of the Old City. Visit the Jewish Quarter, the Roman Cardho and Nehemiah’s Wall. Visit the Western Wall of Herod’s Temple. Pass through the Temple Area (if permitted) to the Crusader Church of St. Anne overlooking the Pools of Bethesda. We then visit the Convent of the sisters of Zion built on the foundations of the Antonia Fortress, the Roman Garrison of Jerusalem. Here we visit the recently excavated first century stone pavement (Gabbatha in the gospels) to follow the Way of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa. After a break for lunch we will be free to explore the Old City Return to Bethlehem in good time for a farewell dinner and final night stay.

Day 8, Monday 27th March OUR JOURNEY HOME After breakfast we leave Bethlehem and drive over to west Jerusalem to visit the Israel Museum to view the model of Jerusalem based around the time of Jesus and to view the Dead Sea scrolls. After a break for lunch make our way to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport and check-in for our afternoon return flight to Manchester Airport. Please note this complex touring programme is subject to minor local amendments
