Follow safe work practices, safe use of all tools, and maintain a healthy attitude

regarding safety. Always walk and work in a controlled and thoughtful manner. Wear ANSI-approved, UL Listed, or CSA rated non-shaded safety glasses. Lightly tinted Yellow, Rose, Blue, Amber tints are FIRST approved, but reflective lenses are not (eyes must be clearly visible to others). Shoes MUST completely cover the entire foot. Shoes must be substantial and have closed-toes and heels to protect against foot injuries, regardless of work location. Flip-flops, sandals, mules, Crocs, lightweight slippers, etc. are not acceptable when working on or near the robot or while attending FIRST competitions

Machine Specifics Rules Keep guard max of ¼ inch above object being cut. Keep fingers away from saw blade, use a push stick. Don’t feed faster than machine can cut. Feed forward – don’t backtrack in the cut

Machine specific rules Make sure jaws on vise are secure on object and vise is secure to table and table is clean. Make sure mills are not damaged before starting. Make sure chucks are tight in collet. Ensure cutting tool is secure in the collet or chuck.
