Spring 2016 Student Elections! Here is what you need to know... Welcome! The Los Rios Community College District and its four colleges—American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake and Sacramento City—will be hosting student elections on April 12-13, 7:00am-11:30pm each day. Students are encouraged to learn more, run for a position, attend candidate forums and vote. There are no voting stations on campus. Students will be able to vote from any mobile device with internet access. For more information please go to this web page: http://studentelections.losrios.edu/

What is the role of the student association? The student association is the official organization that represents students and consists of the Clubs and Events Board and Student Senate. Student leaders from each board are committed to advocating for students' rights, improving the campus culture and developing transferable leadership skills. Specifically, the Clubs and Events Board functions to promote student involvement and activities, while the Student Senate functions to advocate for the common interests of students.

The student trustee provides his/her perspective to ensure that students are served through service on the District's Board of Trustees. For more information, please see the Student Trustee Handbook.

How do I get involved? Each college is always looking for students interested in leadership development. If you are open to learning and working with others, then consider joining the student association.

Why should I vote? Voting in the student elections is a privilege only for currently enrolled Los Rios students. Even though voting only takes a few minutes, elected student leaders make lasting changes to the campus environment and student experience.

COSUMNES RIVER COLLEGE Student Senate President

Vote for one person.

Freddy Mande As Student Senate President, I want to bring positive changes around the campus and focus on reducing the expenses of materials and services to students. I’ve had leadership positions on my high school student council and team leader for a political campaign. I promise to do my best daily. Tony Tran I’m interested in continuing as Student Senate President because of the platform it’ll put me on where I can initiate and promote change for this campus. I served as President for one semester and Director of Finance another. I’m seeking to reunify our Student Body and bring culture to CRC.

The following candidates are running unopposed - meaning only one person is running for the same position. Therefore, vote "yes" or "no" for each candidate. If the candidate receives more "no" votes than "yes" votes, the candidate is not elected.

Student Senate Treasurer Ericca Le As Student Senate Treasurer, I want to spread awareness of the Student Senate and address the issue of the lack of student leadership in monitoring and organizing school funds. I was in leadership/link crew and choir manager in high school, all requiring advertising of school events and sometimes monitoring expenditures.

Clubs And Events Board Commissioner Evan Nguyen During my semester as a Representative on the Clubs and Events Board (CAEB) I have grown an interest to run for a position helping students. Serving as Commissioner, I plan on bridging the connections between clubs, and building new ones from those who have been disconnected or are newly established.
