Introduction Welcome to Vonage Mobile for use with the AndroidTM phone1– giving you great value on international calls. This User Guide explains the features and gives additional information on how to refill your account.

Installation The installation process is detailed in a separate document which can be found online at www.vonagemobile.com/downloads/VonageMobile_Installation_Guide_ANDROID.pdf.

What is Vonage Mobile? Vonage Mobile is a downloadable application for your Android phone. It helps save you money on international mobile calls by routing them through the Vonage network at Vonage Mobile’s low rates. Once you install the Vonage Mobile application on your phone, set up an account and pick a rate plan, you are ready to make calls. Vonage Mobile works alongside your existing mobile plan, so you keep your number, mobile phone, current setup and mobile service provider.

Vonage Mobile Application Screens To launch the application, open Vonage Mobile from the Android phone’s home screen.

Home Screen When you open the Vonage Mobile application you’ll see the home screen. The links at the top of the page give you quick access to: •

ISSUE1.0 March 31, 2010 Pressing the menu button on your Android phone will display the pop-up menu. From here you can select My Settings to change your Vonage Mobile Call Prompt settings.

Make Call Selecting the Make Call button will launch the Android phone’s native dialer. From the Android dialer simply dial an international number and make your call. See Vonage Mobile Wi-Fi Calling and Making a Vonage Mobile Call Through Call for details. TIP: If you’d like to ensure that all your international calls are placed by Vonage Mobile, turn off your international calling service with your mobile carrier.

International Calling Rates Select a country from the list or use the Search feature to find a specific country’s call charges.2 Rates are displayed by rate plan (Vonage World Mobile and Pay Per Use) for both landlines and mobile phones.

Vonage Mobile Features Explained Vonage Mobile Wi-Fi Calling From the Android Dialer/Keyboard, dial an international number and make your call. By default Vonage Mobile on the Android is setup to activate when a Wi-Fi connection is available or international numbers are dialed within the handset’s native dialer. But this behavior can be reconfigured within your Vonage Mobile Settings. You can tell you are connected to the Vonage Mobile network by the in the top left corner of your handset’s screen. The color of orange icon this icon will change depending on the state of your connection. When ORANGE your Vonage Mobile calls will be set up via our service. When BLACK, this indicates that you are not connected to Vonage Mobile via Wi-Fi and you do not have access to the Call Through calling feature.

If you are connected to Wi-Fi, two options will appear when you attempt a call from your Android Dialer: Vonage Mobile and Mobile Carrier. 1. Vonage Mobile enables you to make a call over your Wi-Fi connection. 2. Mobile Carrier makes a normal call via your mobile service provider. Note: If you do not see this screen then please check if Ask me is set within the Vonage Mobile Settings > Vonage Mobile Call Prompt.

ISSUE1.0 March 31, 2010 You will be prompted with a message informing you that charges for Wi-Fi network access may apply and that if you leave the range of the Wi-Fi signal the call will be dropped. Press OK to acknowledge this message and place your call. Note: This message only appears the first time you make a Vonage Mobile Wi-Fi Call.

Vonage Mobile will now place your call.

Note: You can verify that your call is being served by Vonage Mobile if you see the Vonage Mobile branded screens. If you do not see Vonage Mobile branded screens, your call is being served by your mobile carrier.

The Vonage Mobile Wi-Fi call is now in progress.

Making a Vonage Mobile Call Through Call Vonage Mobile Call Through allows you to make low cost international calls wherever you have mobile phone coverage. This means you can use Vonage Mobile for all of your calls, and not just when you have Wi-Fi coverage.

What is a Vonage Mobile Call Through call? If you dial an international number, the call is automatically redirected to a Vonage Mobile access number* in the US and then completed to the international destination. This is often at a much lower cost than the international rates charged by mobile carriers. *A Vonage Gateway number will display in your handset.

From the Android Dialer/Keyboard, dial an international number and make your call. By default, if no Wi-Fi connection is available, Vonage Mobile on the Android is setup to activate when international numbers are dialed within the handsets native dialer. Vonage Mobile Settings If you need to access the Vonage Mobile settings on your Android, simply complete the following steps:

To access the Vonage Mobile Settings, from the Vonage Mobile home screen press the phone’s menu button. Select My Settings.

Vonage Mobile Call Prompt settings affect how the Vonage Mobile application behaves in the Android dialer. From the My Settings screen, select Vonage Mobile Call Prompt.

Here you define which calls will be placed via the Vonage Mobile application. Choose: •

Wi-Fi and International – to place all eligible calls via Vonage Mobile. This includes all international and domestic calls when a Wi-Fi connection is available. When no Wi-Fi connection is available, all international calls. This is the default value.



International – to intercept all international calls (both Wi-Fi and Call Through).



None – to disable call interception



Ask Me – to prompt you to choose the method of call completion – Vonage Mobile or Mobile Carrier

Note: By default, if a Wi-Fi connection is available Vonage Mobile will attempt to place all calls via Wi-Fi.

Reset To Default Settings: This option changes your Vonage Mobile Call Options back to their original settings upon installation.

Repair account: If you are experiencing a technical problem you should try repairing your Vonage Mobile account. This option erases your Vonage Mobile settings enabling you re-enter them the next time you open the Vonage Mobile application. Please see the Re-installation on the Android section in the Installation Guide for further instructions. About Vonage Mobile

My Account Information This screen displays your personal information along with your user name and password (masked) used to log in to your Vonage Mobile web account. It also displays the 4 digit PIN you chose during the Sign Up process. You can change your existing password by pressing the Change Password button. If you need to change any of your personal details simply press the Change Personal Information button.

Change Password If you need to change your account password at any time simply enter your existing password and then choose and confirm the new password. Press Done to save your new password.

Select Rate Plan This screen displays your current rate plan selection and allows you to change it. If you need additional information about either rate plan, select the View Details link for that plan. To change rate plans, press the “Get” button associated with the new rate plan.

Apply for Discount If you have Vonage World home service and you select the Vonage World Mobile plan, you may be eligible for a discount. Enter your home phone number on this screen and press Save. You will receive an email regarding your discount within 48 hours.

Add Funds to My e-wallet If you chose Add Funds to My e-wallet from the My Account menu and you have already entered a credit card into the system, the Add Funds screen is displayed. It displays your current settings and your current refill method. If you are on the Vonage World Mobile plan and you previously defined Auto-Refill settings, you can cancel them from this screen. In addition, you can add promotional funds from this screen. To cancel your previously defined Auto-Refill settings, press Cancel Auto-Refill. If you want to set up Auto-Refill again at a later date, go to My Account menu and select Add Funds to My e-wallet. To add promotional funds to your account, press Add Promotional Funds.

Call History Pressing a month allows you to view all your outbound calls including number, date, duration and cost. Note: The time displayed in Universal Time Coordinate (UTC).

Update Credit Card This screen displays your current credit card. If you’d like to change your current credit card, press Change Card. If you’d like to remove your credit card, press Remove Card. Note: Only one credit card is stored in the system. If you remove your credit card, auto-refill will fail as will monthly charges for Vonage World Mobile.

Help The Contact Us section of the screen displays the email address and phone number you can use to contact Vonage Mobile Support. Pressing the Support page on vonagemobile.com website link will open a web browser and take you to the Vonage Mobile Android support page.

About Vonage Mobile The screen contains information our Customer Care agents may need when you call in for support. In addition, it provides a link to the Terms of Service.

Add Funds to your Vonage Mobile Account Vonage Mobile uses an automatic refill method. Set it up once and you will always have credit. If you have selected the Vonage World Mobile plan, your e-wallet funds will only be used for calls outside the 60 countries included in the plan. If you selected the Vonage Mobile Pay Per Use plan, all Vonage Mobile calls will be deducted from your e-wallet funds. Your balance is refilled automatically when it drops below your preset level. By default, the automatic refill amount is set at $5.00 and the low balance limit is set to $2.00.3 Add funds to your Vonage Mobile Account in one of three ways: •

ISSUE1.0 March 31, 2010 Select your auto refill amount and press Submit. NOTE: If the credit card you entered previously is now expired or no longer valid for any reason, you will be guided through adding a new credit card before the Add Funds screen is displayed.

You will receive confirmation that your information was accepted. Press the Vonage button to return to the Vonage Mobile home screen.

Adding Funds by Phone Vonage Mobile has a telephone refill system which gives you even greater flexibility when managing your Vonage Mobile balance. Simply dial 1-800-405-4VON to use our easy step-by-step telephone system.

Add Promotional Funds You can enter a promotional code by selecting My Account>Add Funds to My e-wallet> Add Promotional Funds. Enter the Promotional code and press the Submit button.
