Course Description and Target Audience The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the Liver Transplant Program and the VCU Continuing Medical Education are pleased to offer the 19th Annual Virginia Liver Symposium and Update in Gastroenterology in Richmond, Virginia at the Hilton Richmond Hotel/Short Pump. The program is designed for primary care and sub-specialty physicians, and mid-level medical providers who treat patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders.

Accreditation and Credit University Health Services Professional Education Programs (UHS-PEP) of Virginia Commonwealth University Health System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UHS-PEP designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Application for CME credit has been filed with American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit pending. The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program (AANPCP) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM from organizations accredited by the ACCME. Individuals are responsible for checking with the AANPCP for further guidelines. For the purpose of relicensure, the VA Board of Nursing accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™(report up to 13 hours of credit and list "CME Category 1" as the provider number) as approved by one of the certifying entities outlined in the Nurse Practitioner Regulations. This continuing education activity meets the criteria of Virginia Commonwealth University and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. 0.8 CEUs will be awarded and recorded with the University.
