2010, Vietnam Industry Construction Group (VNIC) was established BOARD OF under12 Jan the Decision No. 52/QĐ-TTg by Vietnamese Prime Minister through a grouping of six (06) strong Corporations who are powerful in industry DIRECTORS and construction fields in Vietnam, including: Song Da Corporation, as lead company in the Group, Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation and BOARD OF the (Lilama), Infrastructure Construction and Development Corporation (Licogi), MANAGEMENT’s Construction Machinery Corporation (Coma), Song Hong Corporation (Song and Development and Investment Construction Corporation (DIC). MESSAGE Hong) And on the same day, the Prime Minister also issued the Decision No. 53/ QĐ-TTg on the establishment of Song Da Holdings, as a legal entity inheriting all rights and obligations of its predecessor, Song Da Corporation. Song Da Holdings holds 100% charter capital of Lilama, Licogi, Coma and controlling shareholdings of Song Hong and DIC. VNIC’s establishment marked a remarkable and significant milestones for the development of construction industry section in particular and of Vietnam in general and is also for the Government’s purpose of implementation of national key and priority projects of big size, ensuring the construction of national infrastructure required for modernisation and industrialisation. With a strategic direction to become a powerful state ownership economic group with strong financial capacity, state of the art technology, diversified in terms of ownerships of which state capital plays as controlling role and business lines, VNIC would focus on six (06) key business lines including: Construction; Machinery erection and installation; Industrial production; Mechanical production; Urban development - housing and commercial

Thac Ba Hydropower Plant Being the first hydropower plant constructed in Northern Vietnam in the transitional period to socialism, Thac Ba Hydropower Plant was designed with capacity of 108MW and 03 units. Feasibility, design and construction carried out from 1959 to 1961. After more than 10 years of construction, the plant put into operation (the first unit) on 5 October 1971.

Human Resources Development Policy

Being aware of the importance and significance of the development of human resources, VNIC have also established a training fund with aim of the development of human resources. This fund annually sponsors VNIC’s employees to study at home and abroad for the purpose of professional improvement, carreer development as well as enhancement of foreign language proficiency. Kick-off the VNIC restructuring project 28 February 2012, at Head Office of Song Da Holdings was held the kick-off workshop “Package of Consulting for strategy and restructuring Vietnam Industry Construction Group” performed by a leading global consulting company. This is the first project under the State-owned enterprise (SOE) reform and corporate governance facilitation program financed from a Framework Financing Agreement signed between the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The finance of tranche 1 is worth 130 million USD, of which 124 million USD is granted to Song Da Holdings. What Song Da Holdings gains from the success of the restructuring project not only benefits itself but Song Da Holdings will become the “gold” standard for SOE reform in Vietnam (and Asia).

Visit to Song Da Holdings head office from the General Contractor for Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant Project 09 March 2012, a delegation of NIAEP-Atomstroyexport Joint Stock Company leaded by the stand-in Chairman and CEO Limarenko Valery Igorevich, paid a business visit to Song Da Holdings. NIAEP-Atomstroyexport Joint Stock Company is a subsidiary of Rosatom, who is assigned to be the General Contractor for Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant Project. Song Da Holdings and NIAEPAtomstroyexport Joint Stock Company plan to cooperate in training, material supply, construction and erection of sections of the Works. These cooperation activities are being active to prepare the time schedule of the project.

Generation of 4 units, Son La Hydropower Plant 17 December 2010: Unit #1 of Son La Hydropower Plant, the biggest one is South East Asia with the designed capacity of 2400MW with 6 units, for which Song Da Holdings is the general construction contractor, has generated electricity onto the National Grid. 19 December 2011: Successful generation of Unit #4 marked the distribution of 5 billion kWh to the National Grid. Unit #5 and #6 are going to be put into operation by late 2012.

Underground works Construction of complicated underground works is one of the the strongest points of VNIC in general and Song Da Holdings in particular (Song Da Corporation as its predecessor). Our Group have also made uninterrupted and great efforts to modernize our construction machines, equipment with state of the art technology from advanced countries like tunneling technology of Austria (NATM) and Sweden… Song Da 10 and Licogi are our best companies in this field and make up about 75% of local marketshare. With a large number of skilled employees and engineers (4,500) along with being equipped with modern and specialised tools, equipment, plants and machines (250 drilling machines being made by developed countries), our Group have been successful in many big projects. Open drilling and explosion alone for rock collection is about 25 million m3/year; Tunneling drilling: 25,000md/năm; Drilling for foundation reinforcement: 300,000m/year. We are also expanding our operation into urban transport and underground works... Installation of Rotor Unit No. 1 of Son La Hydropower Plant with diameter of 15.589m, 2.816m high, 1,000 tons weigh. Son La Hydropower Plant is the biggest hydropower plants in South East Asia. Groundbreaking ceremony conducted on 02 December 2005, the Plant is designed with 06 units with capacity of 2,400MW. Reservoir area is 224km2, 9.26 billion m3 of water. The first unit being put into operation is on December 2010 and the plant is scheduled to be completely operated by the end of 2012.

MACHINERY INSTALLATION VNIC and its member Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (Lilama), Construction Machinery Corporation (Coma) and Someco Song Da JSC are the most prestigious and biggest machinery installation contractors in Vietnam. Welding Technology Internationally recognised and certified welding technology is applied by Lilama. We have more than 1,500 welders internationally trained and certified. Lilama also apply advanced welding technology and methods like: TIG, MIG, MAG, SAW, STT. All welded joints are tested by the following advanced methods: RT (radiograph testing), UT (ultrasonic testing), PT (penetrant testing) and MT (magnetic particle testing). And the welding standards comply with standards of ASME (USA), ABI-1104 (USA), AWS (USA), EN287-288 (Europe), JIS Welding (Japan) and ASNT (USA). AWS also certify Vocational Training School Lilama 2 (located at Long Thanh, Dong Nai Province, Vietnam) as an official member and the 8th center for its international certification. VNIC have invested in such a number of hydropower plant projects and generated electricity to national power grid as: Se San 3A (108MW), Nam Chien (200MW), Can Đon (78MW), Bac Ha (90MW), Nam Mu (12MW), Na Loi (9,3MW), Thac Trang (9MW), Ry-Ninh II (8,1MW), Eakrongrou (28MW), Iagrai 3 (7,2MW)… Especially, Song Da Holdings, a parent company in VNIC, also invests in number of hydro power projects in Laos including: Xekaman 1 (322MW), Xekaman 3 (250MW), Sekong 3 (205MW) and other projects. With 68 companies listed in Vietnam stock exchanges, this is one of important sources for efficient capital mobilisation to facilitate further business operation. Song Da Holdings also established Song Da Finance with charter capital of 686 billion VND which partly aims to help mobilise capital in capital market in order to improve business efficiency for subsidiaries and associated companies as well as funding for projects such as electricity generation, steel production, infrastructure projects, sea ports and so on. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES September 07, 2010, Song Da Holdings had the honor to be awarded a gold cup for The Development of Vietnamese ethnic minorities. To bring into play the nation’s tradition of Vietnam “Love human as if love yourself, help the poorer”, the Song Da fund raised by Song Da Holdings is usually devoted to charity such as building schools, bridges through river and stream, facilitating computers, building houses of gratitude, houses of great unity, houses of trade union, and so on, bringing smiles, happiness and singings to children and remote mountain villages. Being one of the leading businesses executing the Decree No.30a by the Government on financial aiding poor Districts. For instance, Song Da Holdings granted 40.7 billion VND development assistance to two impoverished Districts Muong La and Phu Yen of Son La province. Giving a positive support to people suffering from natural disasters, floods, participating actively in charity activities, lifetime serving Vietnamese Hero Mothers, raising funds of study encourage, funds for the poor and the staff in difficulties, etc. with an amount of about 25 billion VND.
