Victorian Government State Sponsorship Eligibility List Migration Occupations under the Skilled – Sponsored (176) visa and the Skilled – Regional Sponsored (475 and 487) visa The eligibility list identifies the migration occupations, including specialisations and requirements, which are currently in state-wide demand in Victoria, Australia. Professionals and tradespeople with an occupation on this list may be eligible to apply for free state sponsorship in Victoria.

Skilled – Sponsored (176) visa This permanent residency visa is available to appropriately skilled and experienced professionals and tradespeople living outside Australia, who want to live and work anywhere in Victoria.

Skilled – Regional Sponsored (475 and 487) visa This provisional (temporary) residence visa is available to appropriately skilled and experienced professionals and tradespeople, who wish to live and work in regional Victoria (outside metropolitan Melbourne). Holders of a Skilled – Regional Sponsored (475 and 487) visa can apply for the permanent residency Skilled – Regional (Residence) (887) visa after meeting minimum residency and work requirements. All applicants for sponsorship under the Skilled – Regional Sponsored (475 and 487) visa must have an offer of employment in regional Victoria in their nominated occupation. International student graduates interested in the Skilled – Sponsored (886) visa should refer to the Victorian Government State Sponsorship Eligibility List for Graduates.

How is information collected about occupations on this list? The Victorian Government undertakes research and industry consultation to identify occupations suitable for state visa sponsorship. These lists are updated every twelve months, and are based on information provided by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations; Victorian Government agencies; and industry representatives.

What is the selection methodology for state sponsorship applications? To be considered for Victorian Government state sponsorship for skilled visas, applications must: • nominate an occupation on a current State Sponsorship Eligibility List for the relevant visa subclass • meet the basic criteria for Victorian Government visa sponsorship as outlined on the LiveInVictoria website. Applications will be assessed individually. Your qualifications, skills, experience and ability to successfully establish yourself and any dependents will be assessed, to ensure that your skills are highly sought in Victoria’s labour market, and that you have very good prospects for long-term settlement in Victoria.
