Stretch tape Protex is the first to use UltraFlect® Stretch tape - the only independently tested and certified retro-reflective stretch tape on the market! This stretch tape has proven to be a superior reflective tape. The tape enhances the ability of the wearer to reach and move, by stretching to allow greater flexibility and ease of movement. This ensures greater comfort for all wearers.

PROTEX ventilation breathable cotton backed polos

Fabric made from 100% Polyester Microfibre with 100% cotton backing. Protex moisture wicking comfort through high filament fibre technology. This micro-construction causes the yarns to bulk up when exposed to moisture and quickly dry when exposed to air. • Wicking Technology • Diffusion Ability • Drying Ability • Moisture control • Superior odour control Lightweight, highly breathable with underside vents going from under the arm and right down the side of the polo with a large panel vent on back. TTMC-W Code of Practice ttmc-W

New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA) has a Code of Practice which specifies the standard of safety garment that a worker must wear while working in or close to hazardous traffic areas. The Temporary Traffic Management Control Code of Practice (CoPTTM) states that each garment must include a certain area of fluorescent orange fabric, and a specific configuration of retro-reflective tape. This CoPTTM covers both the compliancy of the design and the high visibility and retro-reflective material. As part of the CoPTTM, manufacturers are required to test and certify their garments at an NZTA approved testing laboratory. New compliance letters TTMC-W must be included on the compliant garments label to confirm that the garment meets the requirements. As of 31st January 2014, to comply with the new TTMC-W, it is compulsory for the fluorescent orange fabric to exceed the ‘wet’ test requirements. The wet test means that the fluorescent orange fabric must still achieve a certain luminance level, even once it is soaking wet and therefore much duller (hence the ‘W’ in TTMC-W).

This standard specifies requirements for clothing intended to provide visibility of the user in high risk applications under any light conditions by day and under illumination by vehicle headlights in the dark (24 hours visibility). The standard specifies the minimum area of fluorescent or non-fluorescent background (compliant) materials present, including fabric, retro reflective tape for night visibility garments, and design and colours for day and night garments. Day only use: A Day only compliant garment must have a minimum 0.2m² of compliant orange or yellow material on both the front and back that completely encircles the upper torso, excluding sleeves and any non complaint fabric collars & plackets. Day/Night use: A Day/Night compliant garment must have a minimum 0.2m² of compliant orange or yellow material on both the front & back that completely encircles the upper torso, excluding sleeves and any non complaint fabric collars & placket (fabric covered by silver retro reflective tape is excluded). Retroreflective material on the front and the back of the garment must comply within the specified design.

This standard specifies minimum colour and luminance requirements for fluorescent or non-fluorescent background (compliant) materials and retro-reflective material (reflective tape) as used in the manufacture of garments for high risk applications.

The UPF rating indicates how effective a fabric is at blocking out solar ultraviolet radiation. This testing is performed according to Australian/New Zealand standard AS/NZS4399. UPF ratings range from 15 to 50 (50 = Excellent) with higher ratings indicating more effective blocking and therefore better protection for the wearer of a garment made from the fabric.
