1 Xerox App Gallery Overview Use the Xerox App Gallery to find Apps that provide new features or capabilities for your devices / multifunction printers (MFPs). The Gallery offers Xerox® Apps that are designed by Xerox and Xerox third-party partners. An App Gallery account provides direct access to apps for devices / multifunction printers (MFPs) that can improve your productivity, simplify workflows, convey pertinent business information, and enhance the overall user experience. With an App Gallery account you can view and acquire Apps, install Apps onto MFPs, and manage your Apps, licenses and devices (MFPs). Note Throughout this guide the word “device” is used synonymously and interchangeably with “Multifunction Printer (MFP).” Some Gallery Apps are free (do not require a license). Other Apps require the purchase of a license; these are referred to as Paid-License Apps.

Xerox® ConnectKey® Note All the Apps in Xerox App Gallery (including Third-Party Partner Apps) are ConnectKey Apps. Xerox® ConnectKey® is technology and software that connects devices / Multifunction Printers (MFPs) to the way work gets done. ConnectKey-enabled devices / MFPs offer fully integrated mobile, scanning, and cloud-based solutions. Tip In order to use Xerox App Gallery Apps on a device / MFP, the device must be loaded with the Software for 2016 ConnectKey Technology-enabled MFPs.

Xerox App Gallery Overview

Device Requirements for Apps Note Throughout this guide the word “device” is used synonymously and interchangeably with “Multifunction Printer (MFP).” All Devices / MFPs require the following: • For App installation, Xerox MFPs must support Xerox Extensible Interface Platform® (EIP) version 2.5 or higher. This is applicable for most apps. Note In order to run / use the Xerox App Gallery App on the MFP, it must have EIP version 3.5 or higher installed on it. • EIP must be enabled to allow for installation of Apps on a MFP; refer to Enabling / Verifying Extensible Interface Platform. • If logging into and / or using the Xerox App Gallery App, review and perform the following as necessary: -

Ensure the device / MFP is able to communicate with internet. Note Some Apps require the device / MFP to communicate with the internet. For installations that require a proxy to connect to the internet, refer to Setting up the Proxy Server for the Device from CentreWare® Internet Services.

-

If Verification of SSL is enabled on the device / MFP, ensure the security Certificates are loaded on the MFP. When Verify Server Certificates is enabled on the MFP, it applies to all EIP Applications on the MFP. Tip By default, the Xerox Solutions Certificates are preloaded on all 2016 Xerox ConnectKey Technology-enabled i-series MFPs. Note SSL Certificates provide secure communication of private and sensitive information over network connections. If SSL certificate validation is disabled, the secure communication of private or sensitive information is vulnerable. Typically, it is recommended that Verify server certificates is enabled on your MFP, though this may cause issues with other application. For further information refer to the Xerox App Gallery Online Support at http://www.support.xerox.com/support/xerox-app-gallery.
