WHO WE ARE

Christian Horizons is a non-profit, faith based charitable organization serving people with exceptional needs in Ontario, Saskatchewan, and in seven developing countries. In Canada, our work is largely in partnership with the provincial governments. Internationally, our work is funded through donations and grants. For over 50 years, it has been our passion to provide opportunities for new friendships, diverse experiences and fun destinations. Christian Horizons Vacation Services provides supported vacations for hundreds of people every year, summer work opportunities for students and respite services to countless families and care providers. We offer a variety of travel opportunities that include summer camps, weekend getaways and international vacations.

Every year Vacation Services recruits skilled and enthusiastic team members for both paid and volunteer summer positions. Room and board expenses are paid for both staff and volunteers. REGISTER Registration forms can be completed online at www.christian-horizons.org under Camps and Vacations. You may also download and print registration forms. There is a $200 deposit required for each camp and a $500 deposit required for each vacation applied for. The deposit will be processed upon receipt. Full payment is due 60 days prior to departure. Vacation Services provides opportunities where your Passport funding may be used to best support you or your loved one through personal development, community participation, care giver respite, along with a variety of social and recreational activities all while growing a network of personal relationships.

Christian Horizons is excited to partner with YMCA Geneva Park. Built on a peninsula on Lake Couchiching, YMCA Geneva Park offers a rare combination of extraordinary natural surroundings and proximity to urban amenities. Just 90 minutes north of Toronto, Geneva Park offers swimming, canoeing, wind surfing, kayaking, paddle boating, sail boating, outdoor educational activities, crafts, and a variety of recreational programs.

COME AND BE A PART OF THE FAMILY RETREAT We know families that experience exceptional needs face unique challenges on a daily basis. The Christian Horizons Family Retreat is focused on encouraging and equipping families to face those challenges by providing a fun, relaxing and inclusive Christian environment where they can share their similar challenges and experiences. Short Term Missionaries (STMs) are volunteers who will be there to assist you throughout the day’s activities in order to ensure that your family is able to experience everything the retreat has to offer, and through our unique model, costs are kept low.

What stands out most about Christian Horizons family camps is the inclusive, nonjudgmental, accepting, and loving environment” - Family Member We are currently looking for Short Term Missionaries (STMs) for this year’s Family Retreat opportunities. CAMP & EXCURSION policy information SUPPORT

We offer our guests 3:1 and 1:1 support ratio options. Where a person experiences challenging behaviours (eg. aggression, self harm) we will assess each situation depending on the specified needs of the guest to determine our ability to support the person to have a successful vacation. To help determine the support needs of a guest, please fill out the application in detail. Contact the Manager of Vacation Services for information about bringing familiar support staff.

CANCELLATION You must notify us as soon as possible if you are cancelling your vacation. Failure to send the balance of your fees does not constitute cancellation. Written cancellation at least 60 days prior to vacation commencement, or cancellation with supporting medical evidence will receive a full credit or refund minus deposit and non-refundable prepaid expenses.

WAIVER The Christian Horizons waiver will be sent to you prior to your vacation and is a condition of participation.

CONFIRMATION & PRICING All vacations and weekend getaways will be confirmed 6-8 weeks prior to departure through e-mail when available or by phone. Confirmation will contain meeting times, flight times, locations, and suggested itinerary. Prices listed are subject to fluctuating exchange rates and other factors. Christian Horizons reserve the right to change prices without notice.
