Picture-In Picture – allows you to continue watching TV while you search the guide Favorites List – indicates the list you are currently using, continue pressing the guide button to change the list to: All, HD, Subscribed and Favorites Highlights – indicates the program currently selected Info Area – provides information about the currently highlighted program which will include start and end times, ratings and a brief description Program Listings – list is placed in numerical order with channel numbers and call signs to the left and programming information to the right

Press the arrows to scroll through programming information on other networks without changing the channel, once you have found your desired program press OK to tune to that channel

Guide – brings up the program guide DVR – provides access to programs recorded using the DVR, as well as reviewing recordings you have scheduled, create a scheduled recording event, review the history of what you have recorded recently, or delete your recording history My Library – stores information pertaining to Pay Per View events, Reminders you have scheduled, Messages from Horizon regarding your service, and the Caller ID history Control On – only displays if the Parental Controls are activated, once activated you can temporarily disable or enable all of the Parental Controls here Settings – offers access to user preferences, parental controls, setting blocked channels and creating sub user accounts Favorites – allows you to chose, edit, create or delete a favorite channel list Search – search for program listings by title Sign Out – displays only if you are using the Enable Login option under Settings/Preferences, have multiple user accounts, and have signed in with a user name and password PPV – instant access to the movies and events available on InDemand Pay Per View HORIZON |

With Horizon’s DVR you can control live TV. Anytime you tune to a channel, the DVR begins making a temporary recording of what you’re watching. You can pause if the phone rings and rewind the scene you missed. The live TV recording is not a permanent recording, unless you actually record it to the DVR’s hard drive. For live TV recordings, the temporary recording will be erased if any of the following occur: • turning the DVR off • switching to another channel, when channel is changed the DVR begins to store the new program removing the previous programs

Playback Controls

You can play back your video recordings using the buttons on your remote. Pause – as you watch live TV and recorded programs press and the programming on your TV screen instantly freezes. Your Horizon DVR will remain in pause for up to four hours. Press to resume normal play of the program from the point where it was paused. Rewind – to rewind, press . Press again to increase the speed. Press to resume normal play. Fast Forward – for programs you are watching live, fast forward can be activated if you have paused or rewound the program. You can only fast forward up to the point of live “real time” broadcast. Press to move forward in the program. Press again to increase the speed. Press to resume normal play.

Status Bar

The Status Bar appears when you pause, rewind or fast-forward a live program which indicates how far you can rewind and where you are in the program.

Horizon’s DVR service allows you to record programs digitally without tapes or discs. Now you can come home to your own personal library of television programs, movies and sports that you can watch when it’s convenient for you. It’s TV on your schedule! With the ability to record up to 100 hours of digital television, you can view these programs as many times as you want - whenever you want!

Recorded Programs – lists programs you have already recorded - go here to watch, lock or delete any of the programs you have recorded To Record – lists all Recording events you have scheduled and allows you to cancel any future recordings

Schedule Event – allows you to create a recording, reminder or auto-tune for individual or recurring programs Record History – keeps a log of when recordings start, complete or are cancelled

Schedule Priority – manages which series get recorded when there are scheduling conflicts

One-Touch Record

Press (Record) on your remote at anytime while watching TV or while navigating through the guide. For programs airing now, recording begins immediately at the point you pressed (Record). You can automatically schedule recordings for programs starting at a later time or date by pressing (Record) while in the listings. Recording will start at the program’s scheduled start time. Manually Schedule a Recording

Set a Manual Recording to automatically record a specific time and channel

From the DVR menu highlight and select Schedule Event; press OK Use the same controls for each setting, highlight the setting you want to change and press OK. Use the arrows to change the setting and press OK. Step 1: Set the Channel Step 2: Set the Program Length (Hours:Minutes) Step 3: Set the Program Air Date (Month/Day) Step 5: Set the Event Type, choose Recording, Reminder or Auto-Tune Step 6: Set Event Frequency. Choose Single (the event happens once), Weekly (the event happens on the same day every week), Every M-F (the event happens every weekday) or Every Day (the event happens every day of the week) Step 7: Set the Event, highlight OK and press OK to save your scheduled event, or highlight Cancel and press OK to exit back to the DVR menu

Record a Series

With Horizon’s DVR service you can record multiple episodes of a program according to your personal preferences. You can set your DVR to record all episodes of the selected program or only new episodes of that program. This is a powerful way to record your favorite programs, how you want, when you want! menu will appear giving you the ability to select Channels, Preference of Standard or High Definition, Your recoding preference of All Episodes or New Only. You can also limit the number of recordings to All, 1, 5 or 10 episodes.

Step 6: Press OK when you have set your preferences.

Play a DVR Recorded Program

In the DVR menu highlight Recordings and press OK. A list of your recorded programs will appear to the right. Recordings are listed from newest to oldest. Any program still being recorded is listed with a red dot icon to the right of the recording date. Step 1: Highlight the Recording you want to watch and press OK Step 2: Play the recording by highlighting Play Recording and pressing OK NOTE: While watching your recording, you can use any of the DVR control buttons on your remote just like you would if watching a DVD. FAQs and Notes

What does DVR stand for? Digital Video Recorder. What is the default password for the settings section? 0 (zero) Where do I find the Caller ID log? The Caller ID log is located in My Library. Press the menu button on the remote and choose My Library. Can I record a program and watch another at the same time? Yes. But you cannot watch and record High Definition (HD) programing at the same time. You can easily watch and record Standard Definition (SD) programing at the same time. Can I record two programs at the same time? At this time, you are unable to perform this function. Can I record a High Definition (HD) program? Yes. Can I rewind a program that I am currently watching? Yes. As soon as you change to a new channel the box begins temporarily storing the programming from that channel. That means that you can not only pause live TV but that you can also rewind back to the moment you first changed to the channel. If you have been watching a channel for an extended period of time (4 hours or more), you can rewind up to 4 hours in the past. What is my PIN number for Pay Per View purchases? The default PIN number is “0”. How many hours of programming can I store? You can store up to 100 hours with your Horizon DVR. You will find a percentage in the bottom right corner of the info area when searching your recorded programs. This percentage indicates the amount of hard drive space you are currently using.
