2, TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION The TWIST inflatable kayak consists of three main chambers, i.e. two sidewall cylinders (1) and a bottom (2). The main chambers are equipped wilh valves (7) for inflating and deflating the kayak, regulaiing the pressure in the chambers by releasing the valves and measuring the pressure in the chambers. The remaining chambers - an inflatable deck with backrest (3 and 4) and a shaped foot rest (5 and 6) are equipped with simple rubber valves with plug stops. The kayak is designed as an open "SlT ON TOP" vessel. The inflatable deck with backrest dellmits the seatinq area and braces the sidewall cylinders of the kayak. the sidewall cylinders and is attached to the bottom by means of straps and plastic buckles (8). The foot-rest is easily removable. The bow and stern are equipped with rope handles (9) to carry the kayak. The space behind the seat can be used to store a small bag with baggage. A net made of flexible rope (1 0) prevents the loss of the bag. Two plastic handles (1 1) inside the kayak enable the kayak 1o be comfortably carried on people's shoulders. The manufacturer's label (12) and a yel-

low caution label (13) are located on the stern inside the kayak.

The kayak is supplied in a transportation bag. The kayak's accessories also include a gluing kit with adhesive, patches, valve reduction, 2 plug stops for valves and a Repair Manual. 1 (4)

3. INFIATION INSTRUCTIONS Prior to inflating the kayak, lay it out and install the footrest. Lace the strap of the foot-rest through the plastic buckle on

the bottom and tighten it properly. Proceed according to the picture - detail B. Prior to inflating the boat, check the state of the valves. Set the valves to the closed position by gently pressing down on the valve-stems and turning them and then releasing your finger so that the valve-stems settle in the upper position. A foot pump or piston pump with a valve adapter is best used to inflate the vessel (the valve adapter is included in the gluing kit). lnflate the individual air chambers of the kayak as follows: First inflate the bottom, then both sidewall cylinders, the deck with backrest and finally the footrest. After inflation, secure all valves with their valve capsTo set the correct operalional pressure in the air chambers, use a manometer with the appropriate reduction.

Detail B

ver the kayak is used on waterways, Waterway Traffic Rules

should be observed. The operation of the TWIST inflatable kayak does not require any licence, provided that the people who operate the kayak know the techniques of small boat operation to the extent required for its operation as well as the valid navigation rules of the particular country. The TWIST kayak is designed for use on rivers up to Difficulty Grade WW 1. lt can also be used on lakes. The kayak is particularly suitable for beginners due to its simple and compact design and easy manoeuvrability. The space on the stern can be used for storing baggage. The person travelling in the kayak sits on the bottom of the kayak with their back leant against the backrest and their feet leant against the foot-rest. The shape of the foot-rest corresponds to different heights of kayakers, who can hence easily find the position most comfortable for them without further set-up. The person travelling in the kayak should wear a flotation life-jacket. Use a double-blade kayak paddle with a length of (210 - 220) cm. CAUTION

Prior to using the kayak, check whether it is necessary to observe any special regulations, restrictions or rules connected with the river, surface of water or area in which you intend to use it. The boat is not designed to be towed behind motorboats, nor may it be towed otherwise, dragged or in any way sublected to unusual stress. Sharp edged or pointed items carried in the kayak should be safely wrapped.

Place all valuables into a waterproof container and fasten it to the kayak.

. CAUTION The maximum operational pressure in the air chambers is 0.02 MPa. lf the ambient temperature increases (e.9.

lakes). The currents and breezes may make it impossible to return to shore,

owing to sunlight), the pressure in the air chambers of

the kayak can rise rapidly. We recommend releasing

some air from all the kayak's air chambers after pulling it out of the water. This will prevent possible destruction of the air chambers, However, do not forget to continuously check the air pressure in the chambers afterwards, too.

4. USING THE KAYAK The TWIST kayak is a single-seat inflatable kayak. Whene-

When using the kayak, always close the valves with their valve caps. This will keep dirt out of the valves. Dirt can cause leaky valve seals.

details ot its flotation capabilities and safety certification.

5. FOLDING THE KAYAK Prior to folding the kayak, clean it and dry it. By pressing down on the valve-stems and turning them, open the valves and release the air. The boat can be deflated more quickly by rolling it in the direclion of the valves or by exhausting the air. Lay out the deflated kayak on a clean suface and straighten all its parts. Then fold both sidewall cylinders to thirds over the boitom of the kayak and then fold the kayak from the bow towards the valves. Fasten the folded kayak with the enclosed strap and insert it together with its accessories into the transportation bag.

6. USING THE UALVES The GUMOTEX filling valves allow the kayak to be inflated by means of a piston pump or a foot pump with the appropriate adapter to fit the hose end to the valve opening.

7. TREATMENT AND STORAGE The rubber surface coating of the kayak is sensitive to oil, petrol, toluene, acetone, kerosene and similar thinning agents. Prior to storing a didy kayak, wash it down with warm soapy waten Rinse the kayak with fresh water after using the kayak in seawater. lt is recommended to check the state of the inflation valves. lf a valve is not air-tight, it is possible to unscrew lhe valve body from the kayak with the use of a special valve-key and clean its membrane under a strong jet of water or compressed air. Prior to storing the kayak, it is recommended to rub the surface of the kayak with an agent intended for the treatment of such surfaces which has cleaning properties and which impregnates the material against further soiling or is capable of forming a protective Uv-filter. Never use agents containing

silicon when treating your kayak. Store the cleaned and dried boat in a dark and dry place at temperatures of (1025) 'C. During long-term storage, it is recommended to inflate the boat for 24 hours from time to iime to avoid fatiguing the fold lines. lt is also recommended to have the kayak serviced by the manufacturer or an authorized service station at least once every two or three years. Proper care and treatment of the kayak will prolong its service life.
