You have received this card reader so that you can log on to Handelsbanken’s Online Banking. You can use the card reader with or without a cable. This guide describes how to get started with your log-on card and the card reader.

Confirm a transaction or switch on the card reader

To follow the instructions in the guide you need: • the card reader • the USB-cable (delivered with the card reader) • the log-on card • the 6-digit PIN for your log-on card

The card reader with cable is the quickest and easiest way to use Handelsbanken’s Online Banking. Install the software Before you use the card reader with cable you will need to install a security program and Handelsbanken’s driver for the card reader on your computer. For more information about installing the software, you can follow the guide at www.handelsbanken.ee/cardreader. Connect the card reader to your computer 1. Insert the large connector of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer. 2. Insert the small connector of the USB cable into the card reader. Log on to Handelsbanken’s Online Banking Ensure that the cable is connected to the card reader and the computer. 1. Insert the log-on card into the card reader. 2. Go to www.handelsbanken.ee, click on ”Log on” and select the desired service in the drop down menu. Click on Ok to confirm. 3. Click on ”Card reader with cable”.

4. Click on ”Authenticate”. 5. ”Card PIN:” will be shown on the display of the card reader. Enter your PIN in the card reader. Press OK You are now logged on and can use Handelsbanken’s Internet Banking. Sign banking errands While using our online banking services you may be prompted to sign certain errands. 1. Insert the log-on card into the card reader. 2. Click on ”Sign” when the security program appears on the computer screen. 3. ”Card PIN:” will be shown on the display of the card reader. Enter your PIN in the card reader. Press OK Your banking errand has now been signed and executed.

The card reader without cable

If you use the card reader without cable, the security program and Handelsbanken’s driver for the card reader are not needed. Log on to Handelsbanken’s Online Banking 1. Go to www.handelsbanken.ee, click on ”Log on” and select the desired service in the drop down menu. Click on Ok to confirm. 2. Select the log-on method by clicking on ”Card reader without cable”. 3. Enter your 16-digit card number (printed on your log-on card) in the field ”Log-on card number”. 4. Activate the card reader by inserting your log-on card. 5. ”Select function” will be shown on the display of the card reader. Press LOGIN 6. A ”Challenge” is displayed on the log-on page. Enter this number in the card reader. Press OK 7. ”Card PIN:” is shown on the display of the card reader. Enter your PIN. Press OK 8. A response code will be shown on the display of the card reader. Enter this number on the log-on page in the field ”Response code”. Click on ”Log on”. You are now logged on and can use Handelsbanken’s Online Banking.

Sign banking errands While using our online banking services you may be prompted to sign certain errands. 1. Activate the card reader by pressing OK if the log-on card is already inserted or by inserting your log-on card. 2. ”Select function” will be shown on the display of the card reader. Press SIGN 3. A ”Challenge” is displayed on the webpage. Enter this number in the card reader. Press OK 4. ”Card PIN:” will be shown on the display of the card reader. Enter the PIN for your card. Press OK 5. A response code will be shown on the display of the card reader. Enter this number on the webpage in the field ”Response code”. Click on ”Sign”. Your banking errand has now been signed and executed.

Can I use someone else’s card reader? The card reader is not personal so you can use any card reader that comes from Handelsbanken. Your log-on card however is personal.

What should I do if I lose my card reader? The card reader contains no personal information or passwords, therefore losing it is not a security risk. To order a new card reader, please contact your branch or call customer support.

Use and keep your computer security software (anti-virus and firewall) up-to-date and run regular security scans. Make sure you are using the latest version of the Handelsbanken’s security program. Log off at the end of each session and do not leave your computer unattended when you are logged on to internet banking. Secure your wireless connection. Your internet service provider or wireless router manufacturer should be able to provide instructions on how to do this. Be alert! Please check carefully before you enter information on websites or send details to people.

What happens if I lose my log-on card? Your log-on card contains your electronic identity. If you lose your card you should immediately call our customer support. Your card will then be blocked.
