INTERNSHIP PROGRAM The University of Redlands Internship Program is an eighteen-week placement. It is supervised on a weekly basis in a public school classroom, and open to those who have met the following requirements:         

An earned Bachelor’s degree Verification and passage of CBEST Verification and passage of CSET or an approved CCTC waiver program 3.0 Grade or equivalent in ALL Professional Teacher credential courses Verification of pre-service requirement (see attached form) Have met the U.S. Constitution requirement for the credential Full admittance to the credential program Successful completion of internship application process (see attached forms) Hold a current: Emergency Permit Or Provisional Internship Permit Or Short Term Staff Permit Or a letter of intent to hire from a public school district, contingent upon issuance of an Internship Credential.

We screen our internship candidates very carefully in order to identify those students who will be successful interns. We recommend that if you are considering applying for the internship program, you first discuss this intent with your cohort advisor. If you are interested in applying for the internship program, please complete the attached application and submit application materials to: Margo Drallos, Director of Field Experiences, University Hall North, Room 126, ([email protected]). An actual assignment as an intern is dependent upon you being employed by one of our cooperating public school districts. If you do not secure an internship position you may request to student teach no later than four weeks before a scheduled student teaching start. Once you begin a student teaching assignment, you must complete it, as internship and student teaching placements cannot be combined. Please note that you will be billed for an additional 3 units for intern teaching. PLEASE NOTE: Internship eligibility letters will ONLY be issued to teacher candidates after receipt of ALL application materials and successful review by the Director of Field Experiences
