Academic Qualifications: 2007 March, Ph.D. Thesis on „The Mythical Vision of JovetteMarchessault in the trilogy Like a Child of the Earth‟, under the supervision of Dr. VijayalakshmiRao (JNU) and Prof Catherine Mavrikakis (University of Montreal). 2004 April-March 2005: Awarded Doctoral Fellowship to conduct Doctoral Research and stay in Canada, affiliated to the University of Montreal, for a period of one year. Fellowship offered by Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, New Delhi.

2000-2002: Masters in French with specialization in French Literature. Grade A. CGPA: 8.31 (on a scale of 1.0- 9.0) which is equivalent to 92 %, from Centre of French and Francophone Studies, J.N.U. New Delhi. Research Interests: Research in comparative critical studies in Bengali and French novels, literary translation (French to Bengali and French to English). Having done Ph.D. on mythological symbols in the works of JovetteMarchessault (Francophone feminist writer of Quebec), I have broadened my area of study to fantasy and mythology in contemporary women‟s fiction in Indian and Francophone literature. Research topics: a) Canadian and Indian women writers of the 19-20th century b) Exile, mythology and motherhood in contemporary French Francophone writing (Ying Chen, Linda Le, LoukyBersianik, Ananda Devi).
