University of Applied Sciences Mittweida A history of more than 140 years Mission Statement: Practical orientation / Co-operation with business / research excellence / Internationality  Founded in 1867 as “Technikum Mittweida”, First course of studies: mechanical engineering  In 1935 it lost its status as private institution and became a state “Engineering School Mittweida”  In 1969 status of a higher education institution as Engineering College  In 1992 it became University of Applied Sciences (FH)  In 2013 the name changed to University of Applied Sciences Mittweida
