United Way delivers car seats to families in need in Lake Country

Lake Country (October 16, 2015) – United Way CSO delivered 5 car seats to Lake Country Health Planning Society as part of the Child Safety Initiative, a partnership between United Way CSO, Central Okanagan Foundation and KGH Foundation. Costco kicked in extra funds and ordered the seats. Eligible families in Lake Country who can’t afford a car seat are able to pick them up from the Health Planning office. A total of 84 car seats were distributed to agencies within the United Way CSO region for the pilot program. Peachland (October 16, 2015) – United Way CSO staff delivered 5 car seats to the Peachland Wellness Centre on Friday as part of the Child Safety Initiative, a partnership between United Way CSO, Central Okanagan Foundation and KGH Foundation. Costco kicked in extra funds and ordered the seats. Budget Car and Truck Rentals donated the truck for the South Okanagan/Similkameen trip. The need has proven to be so great that all the car seats are spoken for. A total of 84 car seats were distributed to agencies within the United Way CSO region for the pilot program.
