Scope National authorities: record data concerning dangerous goods accidents, review and analyse data, submit this data to UNECE. UNECE: consolidate and review at a pan-European level the data coming from national authorities, create basic reports and statistics disseminated to the ADR contracting parties and other ECE members.

UNECE Project Dangerous Goods Events database Deliverable After a pilot phase based on the distribution of a local database, it was decided to present the project of an online application maintained by UNECE that will allow national authorities contracting party to ADR to enter data in a form compliant to the 1.8.5 ADR form.
Three service levels 1 - Minimal structure (local file managed by national authority, sent to UNECE for consolidation) 2 - Private online solution (accessible only to national authorities) 3 - «Open» online solution (accessible to national authorities and private companies involved in transport of dangerous goods)

UNECE Project Dangerous Goods Events database Constraints Sensitive data: specific data coming from the private transport companies (contact information, name of the driver, email addresses…) will have to be accessible only to the national authorities of the country where the accident occurred. Respect the legal standards on sensitive data management.
UNECE Project Dangerous Goods Events database Risks The Joint Meeting of the RID Committee of Experts and the Working Party on the Transport of Dangerous Goods could decide to change the ADR form > impact on database specifications and development.
UNECE Project Dangerous Goods Events database Further developments Interconnection with other external databases, in order to share information on accidents involving dangerous goods: national accidents databases of various countries, accidents databases of international organizations. This interconnection should be addressed in the project definition.
