1. Introduction Ultra Flash Player 8.0 is a powerful yet easy to use flash player module for dotnetnuke. It is a 23 - in -1 module. You can use it as 1: Image Rotator Player 2: Image numeric navigate (classical) 3: Image numeric navigate (integrative) 4: Image numeric navigate (black) 5: Html5 & Flash Video (Audio) Player (new in v 8.0) 6: Mp4 video player, iphone/ipad/mobile support(new in v 7.9) 7: Mp3 Player 8: Flash Video Player 9: Multimedia Player 10: YouTube Video Feeds Player 11: Anarchy Media Player 12: Flipping Book Player 13: Banner Topic Player 14: Silverlight Album 15: Ajax light box image album 16: Ajax light box video album 17: Simple image album 18: Wmv/Wma Player 19: Vertical Switch Image Rotator (legacy support) 20: Simple Flash Video Player 21: 3D image slider 22: Embed video player 23: Ajax fancy box image album(new in v7.8) Package contains two sub modules: Ultra Flash Player (UFP) and UFP_Category. UFP module is mainly used to play media and UFP_Category module is used to provide category list navigate for it. 2. What’s new in v8.0 : New Html5 & Flash Video (Audio) Player added. : Upgrade to DNN 7.x platform.
3. Requirements 1. DNN 7.x. 2. Sql server 2008/2012 or sql express 2008/2012 3. Asp.net framework 4.0 and above..
4. Installation/Upgrade If you already bought module, unzip package which you got, you will see Ultra Flash Player 8.0 Pa.zip, choose it as install package. If you want to trial module first, you can download Ultra Flash Player 8.0 trial edition (unzip me).zip at http://DnnModule.com/FreeDownload.aspx, unzip it you will find Ultra Flash Player 8.0 Pa(Trial).zip. The trial package can be installed on official domain names for 30 days. Click “Host - Extensions – Install extension wizards“ to install module. After installation, you will see 2 modules. One is “Ultra Flash Player”, the other is “UFP_Category”. Install via Ftp The install package size is about 4 mb. If you have problem to upload by click “Host Extensions – Install extension wizards “, there is an alternative installation option you can use. Please use the following procedure: 1. Upload Ultra Flash Player 8.0 Pa.zip to Install\Module folder of your site using ftp tools. 2. Click “Host – Extensions”, then click “Install Available Extensions” button, chooses “Ultra Flash Player” which under “Available Modules” section, click “Install Selected Extensions”.

5. Ultra flash player sub module configurations 5.1. Configuration tips Instead of write a detailed document to explain every detail of the module configuration, we choose to include these guide directly on module self. We put a lot of guide information on module interface. And for every configuration field, we use the standard dnn help method to explain its meaning.
5.2. General Settings Add “Ultra Flash Player” module to a page, click “flash settings” to configure this module.
The first step is “General settings”.
Here you can choose the player mode, different mode will have different settings. Expand "Player selection tips" section to view detail explanation for each player, also visit http://DnnModule.com/Modules/Ultraflashplayer/tabid/72/Default.aspx to watch online demos for each player.
5.3. Flash Settings Different mode will have different settings. We use the standard dnn help method to explain its meaning. Just click the filed label, you will see its explanation like below

5.4. Play list Settings In this section, you can control play item list. Again, different play mode will have different play item control interface.
5.5. Finish Click “finish” button to save your data. Or click “cancel” button to return. .
6. Using UFP_Category sub module UFP_Category module is an independent which provides category list navigation for “Ultra Flash Player” module instance. Each category corresponds a folder under portal site. It has properties like title, image, and description. Click a category item will display medias under this folder (and its sub directories) in “Ultra Flash Player” module instance. This module can be put on the same page with “Ultra Flash Player” module instance, or put on different page (In this case you need specify which page the “Ultra Flash Player” module instance exists)

10. FAQs A. How to upgrade from trial version to official version? Q. Simply re-install official version to overwrite existing trial version, then module will work and keep your existing data. A. How to register my module? Q: If you bought standard edition for Ultra Flash Player module, you need register your copy by provide your invoice id. As follows: 1. In Ultra Flash Player sub module, click “Flash Settings – Register Module”, enter your invoice id while bought this module, then click “Register”. 2. If you install module on test site, don’t register it. 3. Unregistered copy of standard edition will display a tip after 60 days. 4. Enterprise edition and enterprise + source edition don’t need register. Q: I have created a directory under portal directory, but can’t see it display in media gallery folder list, why? A: If you manage portal files via ftp or other tools, your files (folders) may not display in dnn file structure. Files" button to refresh portal file structure. Q: How to display list for flash video/mp3/YouTube Video feeds/multimedia player? A: In “Flash Settings” – “Appearance Settings “, select “Playlist Position” and input “playlist size” as your wish. Q: Why I can’t add files under portal secure folder? A: DNN will automatic add .resources suffix to all files under secure folder. For example, if you upload a test.jpg to a secure folder, dnn will automatic change its file name as test.jpg.resources but will show its name as test.jpg under dnn url control. So, even you can see test.jpg in dnn “file manager “ or dnn url control, it doesn’t exist in portal folder. In order to avoid confusion, we choose to not show files under secure folder.
Q: How to play files under its sub directories when click a category item in UFP_Category module? A: In Ultra Flash Player module instance, click “Play Files List – Play List Type” , choose “Dynamic generate”, make sure the “Recursive” option is checked. Q: Flash Player Compatibility A: 7.x and higher for image rotator gallery. 8.x and higher for flash numeric rotator. If you want to play mp4 files, you need Flash Player 9.0.60 (http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/ ) Q: Other component needed. A: You need quicktime activex plug-in to view quicktime files (mov/ mp4/ m4v/ m4b/ 3gp/ m4a) when you use it as Anarchy Media Player. You need the windows media player activex plug-in to view windows media player files (asf/avi/wmv). Q: Where to find external seeds? A:Try google.com to search XSPF,ASX,Rss format play lists. You can try http://www.radiofreeamsterdam.com/feed/ for play from iTunes podcast rss seeds (Choose multimedia player Mode) . And try http://www.talkr.com/app/cast_pods.app?feed_id=30582 for integrate Talkr.com’s Web-leading text-to-speech service api . (Choose multimedia player or mp3 player mode)

Q: I have configured it as guide .why I can’t play some videos, like flv/mov/mp4 files? A: That’s because Windows 2003 Server does not stream FLV videos by default. You can solve this question by follow these steps. 1. On the Windows 2003 server, open the Internet Information Services Manager. 2. Expand the Local Computer Server. 3. Right-click the local computer server and select Properties. Select the MIME Types tab. 4. Click the New... button and enter the following information: Associated Extension box: .FLV MIME Type box: flv-application/octet-stream 5. Click Ok. 6. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing service. The same steps can also be applied if you can’t play other type files. Here is a list of the related file time and its mime type. .xaml mime type: application/xaml+xml. You must add this mime type before you play the Silverlight album.
