Log into your 123-reg control panel

Enter your 123-reg username and password.

Scroll down to the Create your website section of your control panel and click on the Manage link next to the Instant site Icon.

Press the Login button next to the domain name of the package you wish to access.

This guide will help you create a site using the 123-reg InstantSite package that you have purchased and covers the basics of using the 5 step wizard, you will find a number of additional guides that go into further detail for specific sections such as structuring your site and using some of the advanced features such as the eShop module.

On the next screen you will see the InstantSite editor start screen. This is the first step of the process, here you can choose the default site layout for the type of website you are looking to build using the InstantSite wizard.   

Create your site: Includes the basic pages for setting your website up. Create your blog: Sets up your site to be used as a blog. Create your photogallery: Sets your site up with pages relevant to a photogallery. Tip: White If you are using the InstantSite Plus or InstantSite Pro packages you can select to create a website, a blog site or a photo gallery site here. This will select the default site page layout for your chosen type of site and display a list of pre populated standard pages you can add to your site on the Pages step of the wizard. You can later change this on step 3 pages if you wish to.

You can save the changes made at any point by clicking on the Save Changes button in the top left hand corner of the page.

When you are ready to continue, click on the Next button in the bottom right hand corner of the page. A box will appear asking to apply changes and you will need to click the Yes button /for the changes to save.

On the design page you will first select the template you wish to use.

You can select from a drop down list of categories or use the search function to help you find a template style.

You can select the number of templates to be displayed on the page and navigate through the pages of Templates available by using the options in the bottom left hand corner of the page.

You can then edit the template by changing the Colour scheme.

Changing the Banner using the ones provided with your chosen template or by uploading your own.

Tip: Please ensure that your banner meets the below requirements before uploading it to InstantSite; • Banner image size must not exceed size 1024px x 350px. • Banner image file must be no more than 2 MB. • Banner image file must be named without spaces e.g mybannerimage.jpg

Selecting which Menu style to use.

You can also upload your own logo to be displayed on the page or clear and restore the default logo on your chosen template.

Tip: Please ensure that your logo meets the below requirements before uploading it to InstantSite; • Banner image size must not exceed size 320px x 320px. • Banner image file must be no more than 2 MB. • Banner image file must be named without spaces e.g mylogoimage.jpg

Here you can also set some basic info for your site such as the Site title, a Subtitle and a Footer message.

When you are ready to continue, click on the Next button in the bottom right hand corner of the page. A box will appear asking to apply changes and you will need to click the Yes button /for the changes to save.

You are now on the edit page where you can add content to your site.

Using the editor tool bar you can add and edit content to your site. For more guidance on using the editor tool bar, please see our Using page modules in InstantSite guide. You can download this from www.123support.co.uk.

You can also change the Page title, the Page file name, enter Page keywords and a Page description.

To navigate to a different page for editing you can select the page by clicking on the required page on the menu bar of your website.

You can also navigate to the required page by clicking on it in the sitemap found at the top of the left hand side bar.

You can also add extra functionality to your site by including a module which will allow you to include such features like an RSS feed, voting buttons, feedback form and add custom code to your page. You can find the modules in the side bar located on the right hand side of the page. For more guidance on using these modules, please see our Using page modules in InstantSite guide. The last page allows you to publish your site, click on the Publish button and then your site will be online.

Please Note: If you only have a one page site ensure that the "Republish the entire site content" box is ticked before publishing your site.
