About Turning Account Instructors The Turning Account website provides instructors the ability to create participant lists to be used with TurningPoint Cloud. When the instructor adds a participant to a participant list, the participant receives an email invitation to register for the course. Aside from creating and managing participant lists, instructors can download Turning Technologies software, view their license information and manage their Turning Account. Participants Through the Turning Account website you can purchase a Turning Account license, register response devices, view license information and manage your Turning Account. Creating a Turning Account A Turning Account is a unique identifier that is used to tie together all software accounts and response devices. A Turning Account is required for use with Turning Technologies products. 1 Go to https://account.turningtechnologies.com/. 2 Enter your school or organization email address and click Create. IMPORTANT If your email address belongs to a defined organization in Turning Account, the following message is displayed: Your Turning Account needs to be connected to your school’s Learning Management System to track your participation. Sign-in to your LMS and click on the Turning Account Registration link under any course that uses clickers. 3 Check your email and click the link to verify your Turning Account. NOTE If you did not receive the verification email, click the Resend button in Turning Account. 4 Enter all required fields as noted by the asterisks. 5 Enter and confirm your password in the fields provided. NOTE The password must be at least eight characters long and contain one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter and one number. 6 Select the box labeled By checking this, you agree to comply with the End-User License Agreement and Terms of Use. 7 Click Finish. 8 If you have a license code and/or device ID enter them in the appropriate box and click Redeem and/or Register. 9 Click Finish. The Turning Account Dashboard is displayed.

Submitting Feedback 1 While signed in, click

2 Click Feedback. You will be redirected to the Turning Technologies online feedback form. 3 Enter the information in the fields provided and click Submit.

Joining a ResponseWare Session You can join a session from Turning Account if your instructor is utilizing ResponseWare. 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Click

in the upper right corner of your screen and select ResponseWare.

3 Enter the Session ID and click Join Session. NOTE Your instructor will provide you with the Session ID either in the syllabus or at the beginning of class.

Signing Out 1 While signed in, click 2 Click Sign Out.

Profile You can make any necessary adjustments to your Turning Account information from the Profile tab.

Changing Your Email Address NOTE If the current email address belongs to an organization, the change email option will not be available. 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Profile from the left menu. 3 Click Change Email below your email address at the top of the screen. 4 Enter the new email address in the area provided and click Send Verification. 5 Check your email and click the link to verify the change to your email address.

Editing Your User Information 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Profile from the left menu. 3 From the User Information section, you can edit your: l First and last name l

3 Click Change Password. 4 Enter a new password in the Password field. 5 Re-enter the password in the Confirm Password field. 6 Click Save.

Viewing License Information You can view the type and expiration date of your license at any time. 1 Click Profile from the left menu. 2 Click Manage License.

Purchasing or Redeeming a License IMPORTANT You must purchase a Turning Account license. This license is required for instructors to be able to view session information and scores.

NOTE The Student Store is only available to Higher Education Organizations. A Turning Account license is required for responses from response devices or ResponseWare to be tracked and used in TurningPoint Cloud and Learning Management Systems (LMS). The Turning Account license also includes a ResponseWare license. 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Profile from the left menu and click Manage Licenses. 3 Do one of the following: l If you have already purchased a license code from your bookstore, click Add License and enter the code in the License Code field and click Redeem. NOTE A license code could have come within the ResponseCard box.

If you have not purchased a license code, click Add License and then click Purchase a License. Your browser will be directed to the Turning Technologies Student Store. a Select an item. b Click Add to Cart. c Click Review Selections. d When you are ready to checkout, click Checkout. e Enter your billing information and click Review Order. f After reviewing your order, click Complete Purchase. g After the purchase is made, a confirmation screen is displayed.

h Click Access Turning Account to be redirected to your Turning Account. NOTE The license is automatically applied to your account.

Adding a Device If your instructor requires the use of a ResponseCard (clicker) in class, you must add the device to your Turning Account in order to receive credit in class. Up to ten devices (9 Clickers and 1 ResponseWare) may be added to your account. NOTE If you are using ResponseWare, your ResponseWare Device ID is automatically added to your Turning Account. 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Profile from the left menu. 3 Click Add a Device. 4 Enter the Response Device ID and click Redeem. The Device ID is located on the back of the device below the barcode. TIP Letters A - F and numbers 0 - 9 are valid Device ID options.

Removing a Device Response devices should only be removed from your Turning Account if you no longer have access to the device. If you remove a device, the device is no longer associated to you in any future sessions. EXAMPLE You may remove a device at the end of the semester because you sold it to the bookstore.

Downloads Downloading Software Before You Begin You must have Administrative privileges on your computer to download the Install version of the software. IMPORTANT Prior to downloading, verify with your institution which version of the software is supported. 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Downloads from the left menu. NOTE Instructors accessing the Downloads form for the first time will be prompted to fill out a contact information form. All fields are required to proceed into the Downloads page. 3 Select the appropriate program. NOTE Please note TurningPoint Cloud requires participant or instructor licensing for individual reporting and exporting. Due to the added security encryption available in TurningPoint Cloud these data files cannot be opened in TurningPoint 5. 4 Save the file to a specified location. 5 Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions.

File Storage Turning Account allows you to store up to 1GB of data. NOTE The supported file types include: .zip, .csv, .xsl, .docx/doc, .pptx/.ppt, .jpeg, .png, .wmv This chapter covers the following topics: Uploading a File Downloading a File Deleting a File

Uploading a File 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select File Storage from the left menu. 3 Click Upload. The Upload File window is displayed. 4 Click inside the Upload File window or drag and drop your content into the Upload File window. 5 Select the file or files to be uploaded and click Open. The status of the upload is displayed in the Upload File window. 6 Click Close.

Viewing the Organization As a Turning Account Administrator you can view the domains associated to your organization along with member information. 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Organization from the left menu. 3 Click Users. The member are displayed in groups of 10, alphabetically by email address by default. 4 Click a column header to sort member information by the desired category. 5 To quickly locate an individual member, enter their name in the search area and press enter. NOTE To view an individual members profile, select a member from the table and click Profile at the top right of the page.

7 To view the domains associated to your organization: a Click General at the top left of the screen. All of the domains associated with your organization are displayed.

Changing User Roles As a Turning Account Administrator you have the ability to promote or demote users within your organization. 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Organization from the left menu. 3 Click Users. The member are displayed in groups of 10, alphabetically by email address by default. 4 Locate and select the desired user from the table. 5 Click Promote at the top right of the page to promote the user to an admin or click Demote to demote an admin to a user.

Exporting the Organization Information As a Turning Account Administrator you have the ability to export the organization's information. 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Organization from the left menu. 3 Click Users. The member are displayed in groups of 10, alphabetically by email address by default. 4 Click Generate. NOTE This may take several minutes based on the size of your Organization. 5 Refresh your browser. 6 Click Download. The file is downloaded as a CSV.

Assigning Licenses 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Click Organization from the left menu. 3 Click License. 4 Select the User from the table or you may skip to the next step. NOTE You can only allocate seats to one user at a time. 5 Click Allocate. The Allocate Seats window opens. 6 Enter the email address or the name in the box provided if you did not select an email address from the table. 7 Enter the number of seats to be allocated in the Seats Allocated to User box provided. 8 Click Allocate. An email is sent to the user that informs they have been assigned licenses.

Unassigning Licenses 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Click Organization from the left menu. 3 Click License.

4 Select the User from the table or you may skip to the next step. NOTE You can only deallocate seats to one user at a time. 5 Click Deallocate. The Deallocate Seats window opens. 6 Click Confirm.

Participants This chapter covers the following topics: Creating a Participant List

Creating a Participant List Creating a participant list from Turning Account allows participants to register for a course. After the participant list is created, an email invitation is sent to participants requesting them to register for the course associated to the participant list. IMPORTANT Skip this task if your school uses a Learning Management System (LMS, e.g., Blackboard, Moodle, Sakai). 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Participants from the left menu. 3 Click Add. The Save Participant List window opens. 4 Enter the participant list Name and ID. TIP It is highly recommended to name the participant list after the course (refer to screenshot). Participants can search for the course by course name, course ID, instructor name or EXACT instructor email. 5 Click Save. The participant list is successfully saved. 6 Select the participant list and click The participant list opens.

7 Click Add. The Invite Participants window opens. 8 Enter a participant's email address. To add multiple participants, separate email addresses with a comma. Valid email addresses are marked green while invalid email addresses are marked red. TIP Copy and paste email addresses into the Invite Participants window. Email addresses MUST be separated with a comma (,).

9 Click Send to invite the participant(s). NOTE Click the Accepted or Invited buttons to track which participants have or have not registered for the course.

Enroll Enrolling in a Course IMPORTANT Skip this task if your school uses a Learning Management System (LMS, e.g., Blackboard, Moodle, Sakai). There are three scenarios for enrolling in a course. You have created a Turning Account and received an email invitation to join the course. If a Turning Account has been created prior to the instructor sending out an invitation to join the course, you will automatically be enrolled in the course. Turning Technologies will send an email to notify you that you have been added to the course. An instructor sent you an email invitation and you do not have a Turning Account. If you do not have a Turning Account, you will receive an email from Turning Technologies inviting you to create an account. Once the account is created, you are automatically enrolled in the course. An instructor has not invited you to join the course. If an instructor has not invited you to join the course, it is your responsibility to manually join the course. Follow the steps below to enroll in the course. 1 Sign in to your Turning Account. 2 Select Enroll from the left menu. 3 In the Search

field, enter the course name, course ID, instructor name or EXACT instructor email address. TIP Searching by the exact instructor email address is the most accurate way to search for available courses.

4 Press Enter. 5 Use the arrows

to navigate through pages.

6 When the course is located, select it and click Enroll.
