It’s easy to create a rewardingly fun experience that’s more than just business.

THE SINGAPORE DIFFERENCE ACCESS THOUGHT-LEADERSHIP IN A SECURE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS ENVIRONMENT
LEVERAGE THE ASIAN HUB WITH A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
Singapore is the home base of thought-leadership and innovation with unique strengths in knowledge-based and knowledge-driven industries such as banking and finance, biomedical sciences, ICT and media, energy and environment, as well as transport and security. Singapore has also successfully grown its R&D base, drawing top scientific and creative talent and nurtured many R&D collaborations between the public sector and private enterprise.
As one of Asia’s main air, sea and telecommunications hubs, Singapore offers market access to some 3.3 billion people within a 7-hour flight radius. Business travellers can easily convene in Singapore, with over 102 international airlines flying to some 302 cities in 79 countries and territories worldwide.
Singapore is home to over 7,000 multinational corporations and around 150 International Non-Profit Organisations (INPOs).
These factors continue to draw international thought leaders, high-level government officials, and international personalities to Singapore for the exchange of ideas and insights. Singapore is also known for integrity, quality, reliability, productivity, rule of law, and enforcement of intellectual property (IP) rights – assets essential in the knowledge economy.
Beyond air and sea connectivity, Singapore also has the most extensive network of free trade agreements in Asia. Coupled with a trusted MICE ecosystem of event organisers, venue operators, government agencies, trade associations and academic/research institutions, Singapore is well-positioned to provide the critical factors for the success of an event.
“One of the key strategies to drive our events business forward is to form strategic partnerships with established MICE players abroad to create new shows in the Asian market. We will continue to collaborate with strategic partners to develop new event concepts in key industries such as healthcare, information technology and environment to meet industry demands, and in line with Singapore’s vision to be the regional hub for these industries.”
ORGANISE EVENTS WITH EASE Singapore prides itself on its efficiency and the professional services that the local industry can provide to business events organised here. The SECB also works together with industry partners to provide customised solutions to meet the unique needs of any event. With Singapore’s stable socio-political climate, good infrastructure and an enticing concentration of business and leisure offerings, business events can be run with greater ease and confidence.
MIX BUSINESS WITH UNIQUE LEISURE EXPERIENCES When it comes to having a great time, it’s all in a day’s work in Singapore. From its distinctive cultures and dining experiences to first-of-its-kind attractions and world-class shopping venues, Singapore beckons with a unique mix of exhilarating leisure experiences to enhance a delegate’s stay. In addition, Singapore offers a host of unique venue options and innovative meeting concepts that can mix business with pleasure.

SUSTAINABLE GREEN MEETINGS
MEETINGS GO GREEN With an increasing consciousness about the environment, more MICE event organisers are turning to destinations and venues with strong sustainability policies to enhance the overall visitor experience.
3 EASY WAYS TO GO GREEN IN SINGAPORE CHOOSE A GREEN VENUE Green venues enjoy savings in operational costs resulting from energy and water efficiencies. These savings can in turn be passed on to the event you are organising. Apart from reduced resource consumption, the extensive greenery and healthy indoor environment can also provide a greater sense of wellbeing to your delegates.
For green venues in Singapore that have been certified Green Mark by Building and Construction Authority (BCA). Look out for the BCA Green Mark symbol in our Event Venues directory.
TRAVEL GREEN Public transport in Singapore is clean, efficient and safe. With the island’s extensive bus and train networks, delegates can get around the city and to meeting and convention venues easily and comfortably at less than a tenth of a private car’s carbon footprint. To further reduce the environmental impact, choose an environmentally-friendly airline, like Singapore Airlines, when making travel arrangements to and from Singapore. JOIN GREEN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Designed as a city in a garden, Singapore offers an abundance of clean air and relaxing spaces for recreation. You can choose from a myriad of green tours organised by NParks, Marina Barrage and Gardens by the Bay, as well as organise team-building green activities at Sentosa. SUSTAINABILITY GUIDELINES FOR THE SINGAPORE MICE INDUSTRY These guidelines have been developed as a tool to help both planners and suppliers integrate sustainable practices within your organisation’s operations and regular event plans. Through these guidelines you will gain a better understanding about environmental, social and economic sustainability issues and their implication on the events you organise. Seven guidelines have been developed, and offer guidance for Basic and Intermediate sustainable performance. For more information on planning a green meeting using the guidelines, visit yoursingapore.com/mice. parkroyalhotels.com

“In a survey amongst the US organisers of exhibitions and events in December 2013, Singapore is ranked as the second most important country in Asia where they would like to launch new activities or programmes in the years to come. This demonstrates that Singapore is considered to be a gateway to the Asian market as the region continues to grow unabated.” Edward Liu, PBM Group Managing Director, Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd Chinatown Food Street
