Class Descriptions Track Descriptions: Attendees are free to select classes from multiple tracks or focus on classes in a single track. Some tracks contain multiple classes, and for others, there may not be a class in every track. We recommend that you use the tracks as a guide and that you plan to attend classes in several tracks. • •

Courtroom — The Courtroom track focuses on what happens in the courtroom and using Odyssey to transition to an electronic courtroom. Operations — The Operations track contains classes related to the administration and process of running the courthouse, such as state reporting, criminal e-filing, digital recordings and workflows. Jail/Law Enforcement — The Jail and Law Enforcement track focuses on today’s new capabilities and tomorrow’s vision for Odyssey Jail Manager and Law Enforcement, as well as New World Aegis software. Serving Citizens and Attorneys — This track includes classes about Odyssey Portal for public access, e-filing and Odyssey Guide & File for self-represented litigants. Administration — The Administration track is appropriate for those responsible for maintaining the configuration of Odyssey and making adjustments to how Odyssey is set up. Information Technology — The Information Technology track is designed for IT staff and management, including IMS administration, integration solutions and more.

Note: Labs include hands-on training using a computer. You will find classes that are labs in most tracks.

Tuesday, March 29, 2016 A General Session for all attendees will occur, preceding Session 1. Session 1: 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Courtroom Track Making the Most of Judge Edition (9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) Description: Judge Edition looks easy to use, but what does it actually do to enhance the courtroom experience? This class will demonstrate how to use the powerful features of SessionWorks Judge Edition to prepare for a court session. You will also learn how to use the

various features to organize and manage a courtroom session. Objective: After attending this class, attendees should understand how to use the various features of Judge Edition to enhance the courtroom experience and move towards a paperless environment. Operations Track Building an Electronic Case File (9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) Description: This course is designed to explore the fundamentals of implementing an electronic case file. In this class, you’ll learn about existing and new Odyssey features to assist clerks and their staff in becoming more electronic. You’ll learn from the experiences of Tyler experts and clients who have transformed their case files to paperless. This informative class is a must for anyone who wants to explore how to transform their current paper operations, move towards a goal of paperless processing and attain an electronic case file. It is recommended for clerks and their staff. Objective: After completing this class, you will understand features that are available and those coming soon to implement an electronic case file. You will also know more about the size of the effort and cost (if any) to implement these features. Advanced Financial Processing 1 Lab, Part 1 of 2 (9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) Description: This Advanced Financial Processing lab will give financial administrators a birds-eye view into Odyssey features to process disbursement checks, manage deposits and correct financial transactions entered in error. Join us to learn best practices in the most proficient manner. This lab is a hands-on view to create, adjust and report financial transactions. Objective: After completing this lab, you’ll have a deeper understanding of Odyssey features and reports. You will have the ability to create and practice financial transactions in a group setting. Serving Citizens & Attorneys Track Portal – Transforming Online Justice (9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) Description: Now that you have an electronic case file, Odyssey Portal provides the means for you to enable electronic access and electronic self-service to the public, attorneys and justice partners. This session will provide an overview of the various features of the Odyssey Portal, including attorney hearing scheduling, justice partner search capabilities and access to digital recordings. Objective: You will have a general understanding of the various features available in the Odyssey Portal and how they can be used to deliver access to justice records online. Attorney Manager Track Advanced Electronic Attorney Office, Part 1 of 3 (9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) Description: This series of courses is designed to explore features that can be used together to make processes more efficient and paperless. In the first session of this three-part series, we will learn how you can use the eSignatures feature to electronically sign documents. We will also

discuss workflow and task management capabilities and how it can be used with electronic signatures to streamline and facilitate paperless processes. Objective: After completing these classes, you will have a better idea of the how electronic signatures, workflow and task management can be used together to improve efficiencies, eliminate paper-based processes and streamline workflow. Jail and Law Enforcement Track Advanced Electronic Jail, Part 1 of 2 (9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) Description: Use of external, third-party technologies and tools can assist in transforming existing business processes to make them more efficient and effective. This can include the use of fingerprint biometrics software and readers, mobiles units for tracking inmate events and movements, specialized kiosks for accepting and transacting inmate funds, signature capture devices and document scanners in support of a paperless environment. In addition, features inherent in Odyssey, such as widgets, workflow and task management assist in automating the flow of information within the jail and between the jail and various criminal justice partners. All of this technology works in support of the day when jailing organizations become truly electronic. Objective: This class reviews the use of these devices in conjunction with Odyssey functionality in a jail environment, analyzes the best practice methodologies in which it can and should be used and discusses possible future directions in preparation for the electronic jail. Administration Track Managing Rights and Roles Lab, Part 1 of 2 (9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) Description: This interactive lab will review the principles to effectively manage security rights and roles in Odyssey. Learn more about how rights and roles are used together and explore different methods to determine how many roles you need. Follow along, in a lab setting, to create new roles or modify roles within the application. This lab is designed for Odyssey rights and roles administrators. Objective: After completing this class, you will have an understanding of the best practices to effectively maintain rights and roles within your organization. How to Prepare for Odyssey Releases (9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) Description: Upgrading your county or statewide Odyssey environment is exciting, but can also be a stressful activity for any organization. New development and features that allow our offices to run faster and more efficiently are one of the primary drivers prompting the annual upgrade for each IT organization. Tyler is committed to making this task as smooth and hassle-free as possible. In this class, we will discuss some tools and procedures in place that will assist in this endeavor. Join us as we review compatibility matrices, release and patch notes, testing procedures, LMS videos and various training packages that are offered as your organization prepares for the next upcoming release. Objective: After this class, you should come away with a proven release strategy that enables your office to effectively take new Odyssey releases with minor impact to users, making the process feel seamless and ultimately, enhancing your internal environment.

IT Infrastructure Track Introduction to Odyssey SQL Server (9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.) Description: Understanding how SQL Server® works enables a DBA to ensure the engine is operating at peak performance. Learn about the basic internals, tools and features of SQL Server in relation to Odyssey to aid in optimizing your SQL Server environment. Objective: Attendees will gain a basic working knowledge of SQL Server and its management tools. Session 2: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Courtroom Track Making the Most of Clerk Edition (11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) Description: Need a solution to keep up with a fast-paced court? Drowning in multi-part checkbox forms? Struggling to transition your court to paperless so that staff can easily generate electronic documents the day of court? Learn how Clerk Edition actions and macros can speed up your data entry. Customize your Clerk Edition experience so it fits your courtroom needs and join in on a discussion about best practices. Objective: JP attendees will leave with an overview of how Clerk Edition works and how they can customize it to their court’s needs. Operations Track Integrating Digital Recordings into the Digital Record (11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) Prerequisite: Portal - Transforming Online Justice Description: What if judges, court staff and attorneys could quickly and easily access the recording for a specific hearing? Whether on the Web or in the office, For The Record (FTR) and Tyler have teamed up to make digital recordings of court proceedings easily accessible to all. We will demonstrate the capabilities of today, review the FTR recording products that facilitate the solution and discuss next steps in the evolution of accessing the content of a hearing. Objective: After attending this session, you will gain an understanding of the integration between For the Record and Odyssey, as well as the requirements needed to implement this feature. In this class, we will cover the State Report tab, how to correct common errors and how docket adjustments are handled. Upcoming legislative changes that impact reporting for the courts (SB1369 and HB3994) will also be covered. Objective: After completing this class, you should have a better understanding of how Odyssey handles OCA monthly reporting and correcting common reporting issues. Operations Track An Introduction to Odyssey Jury (1:15 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.) Description: This course will introduce you to the basic functions of Odyssey Jury, which is an endto-end enterprise jury system. During the class, you’ll discover some advantages to using Odyssey Jury because of the integration with Odyssey. In addition, you will see how the Odyssey Jury Portal increases efficiency for the jury staff and enhances the jury experience for the public. Objective: After attending this class, the attendees should walk away with a basic understanding of how Odyssey Jury works. They should also understand how it is integrated with Odyssey and the benefits of that integration. Objective: Attendees will gain an overall understanding of how charges are presented in all of the integrated Odyssey products. Serving Citizens & Attorneys Track Managing Document Work Queues and Paths Lab, Part 1 of 2 (1:15 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.) Description: Join us to learn about features in Odyssey, including Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Enhanced Workflow. Administration Track Code Configuration Maintenance (11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) Description: Although your configuration is completed during go-live, you anticipate maintenance of the Odyssey configuration for future business process changes, Odyssey releases or legislation changes. Example code table include fee codes, offense codes or state reporting, which could change in your jurisdiction. Find out the best process to manage updates to your existing code configuration. As configuration administrators, you will see the tools and strategies to organize configuration while you reduce risk to your organization. Objective: Identify some of the best tools and strategies to manage code configuration maintenance. From better ways to access those all-important electronic lists to the easiest ways to find your favorite menu option, discover the next evolution of the Odyssey Assistant. Objective: Attendees will achieve a high-level understanding of the next evolution of the Odyssey user interface and changes to the minimum desktop requirements necessary to run Odyssey 2016 and beyond. Join this class to learn how to design and automate a collection process, create notifications in batch, assess additional fees automatically, send and receive files from collection agencies and increase your collection rates. Objective: After completing this class, you should have an understanding of the options available in Odyssey to assist with collections. Serving Citizens & Attorneys Track Managing Document Work Queues and Paths Lab, Part 2 of 2 (2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.) Description: Join us to learn about features in Odyssey, including Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Enhanced Workflow. You will also learn how the eDiscovery solution enables you to share your discovery electronically with defense attorneys, while tracking when the item was viewed. Jail/Law Enforcement Track Pre-Trial Release (2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.) Description: Around the country, pretrial release programs are being implemented to help control the jail population by releasing inmates back into the community when a defendant is not a threat to citizens. Pretrial release programs provide a mechanism for reviewing incoming offenders to determine eligibility for release into the community while awaiting trial. Odyssey’s Pretrial Release module supports the decision-making process, which involves an interview, completion of a summary document and a corresponding decision to release or not release the inmate from jail. Attend this informative class to learn more about Odyssey’s Pretrial release feature. Objective: After completing this class, you’ll have a better understanding of the Pretrial Release functionality in Odyssey and how to implement a pretrial release process in your county. Objective: After completing this class, you will be able to apply your own updates to Odyssey and manage Odyssey servers and services using the IMS tool. Redacting Documents with CSI (3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.) Description: Remember the days of paper files when someone wanted a document, but you made a redacted copy with a black marker? Many courts are going without paper case files, mostly due to the introduction of electronic filing. Redaction is still a part of the process, but without a paper document, how do we efficiently and effectively redact those documents? Tyler has partnered with CSI, a leader in electronic document redaction. Come see a demo of CSI’s Intellidact product and learn how Odyssey document management can seamlessly communicate with it, making automated redaction of electronic documents easier than it was on paper. Objective: Attendees will leave with a high-level overview of the primary features of CSI’s Intellidact product and how it interfaces with Odyssey using workflow. Advanced Charge Integration Lab (3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.) Prerequisite: Basic Charge Integration (session 3) Description: This class is designed to be a hands-on lab in which users gain more knowledge about using the elements learned from the Basic Charge Integration class to not only walk a charge from beginning to end, but to also incorporate best practices for identifying/troubleshooting potential issues throughout the process. Objective: After completing this lab, you should be able to walk a charge through from beginning to end (Jail Manager-Supervision), and also identify potential reasons why charge integration may have been broken during the process and the best practices to fix those issues. Serving Clients and Attorneys Track Proposed Order Workflow (3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.) Description: Attend this class to learn how to implement an electronic proposed order process in your court. Attorneys can submit proposed orders via File & Serve to Odyssey, which will send

the proposed order to the court electronically. The Proposed Order functionality enables the judge to review, edit and sign the proposed order electronically, and then route the order to a clerk for docketing. Learn about this powerful functionality and the suggested processes for implementation. Objective: After completing this class, you’ll have a better understanding of proposed orders in Odyssey and how to easily implement an electronic proposed order process in your court. Attorney Manager Track Subpoenas (3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.) Description: Refresher time! Join us as we talk about subpoenas and how to handle various business processes. We will also talk about how subpoenas integrate with other product centers and how to issue service for a subpoena. Objective: After completing this class, you should have a better understanding of how subpoenas function in Attorney Manager and with other product centers. Jail and Law Enforcement Track Biometrics and Scanning (3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.) Description: The use of fingerprint biometrics in a jail environment assists in locating matching inmate records (one-to-many searches), and in positively verifying an inmate with an associated inmate record (one-to-one verification). The uses of this technology are innumerable, and it greatly assists jails in several unique processes that are found within jails. Now, inmate party and jailing record searches within Jail Manager can be carried out using a single fingerprint to locate and retrieve these records in seconds. This eliminates the possibility that duplicate inmate/party records will be created. In addition, during the releasing process (or at any time preceding this event), an inmate can be subjected to a rapid verification process to ensure that the inmate that is being processed is the correct one. Objective: This session reviews the use of this technology and discusses biometrics best practices in the jail environment. Furthermore, a discussion of future direction related to other biometric technologies will be entertained.
