City Of Lights Procession and Christmas Lights Switch-On
The parade will move through Truro as follows: TA Centre (Moresk Road), St Clement’s Street, Pydar Street, Union Street, Castle Street, River Street, St Nicholas Street, Boscawen Street, Princes Street, Green Street and Lemon Quay - the route is shown on page 20.
Wednesday November 17 7pm from Truro TA Centre, Moresk Road. Nothing heralds the Christmas season quite like the warm glow of festive lights. Truro once again lights up in spectacular style as the hugely anticipated City of Lights festival and procession delights the crowds. A dazzling procession of withy and tissue lanterns float through the streets, handmade and carried by professional artists, Cornish children and local groups. This year the giant lanterns take inspiration from a magical theme of tales and legends. The evening’s entertainment will include the official switchon of Truro’s Christmas lights, plus music and dance from Truro School of Samba. The Christmas lights switch-on will take place when the parade pauses for a grand countdown in Boscawen Street. The parade ends at 8.00 - 8.30pm. City of Lights is free to attend thanks to the generosity of the public, our sponsors and partners. Donations before the event and on the night go a long way to securing the future of this much loved event. Please call 01872 261770. Visit www.trurocityoflights.co.uk for more information and find Truro City of Lights on Facebook.
