TROUBLESHOOTING & MAINTENANCE GUIDE

Congratulations on becoming a SliderDynamic Owner. This guide will help make sure your SliderDyanmic unit is kept in good condition and functioning at all times.

STORAGE The SliderDynamic can be stored upright. To do so: ALWAYS PUT THE FRAME LOCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION BEFORE MOVING THE SLIDERDYNAMIC.

LOCKED

UNLOCKED

Keep locked for STORAGE and MOVING

Keep unlocked while Slider is in use.

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE DAILY :

Wipe down handle, seat, rails and frame after every row using WaterRower’s metal & plastic cleaner (or any multipurpose cleaner safe to use on powder coated metal).

WEEKLY : Each week inspect the leg bolts and bolts attaching flywheel Once the rolling frame is locked, lift the rear of the machine to engage the front wheels on the ground. Wheel the machine into position and stand the machine upright on the front end. Only store the machine upright on a level and even surface. *Please note, when standing your unit upright, slide the seat forward towards the footboard, prior to lifting the rear leg.

assembly to top rail frame on both sides. If they are loose, tighten with 5mm Ratchet (or Allan key). You will need to stand the SliderDynamic up to access the leg bolts.

EVERY 3 MONTHS :

Remove the flywheel cover and examine the drive system for any wear on the sprockets and pulleys. See Replacing Idler Sprockets in the SliderDynamic Service Manual if worn or making grinding sound.

EVERY 3 MONTHS (CONTINUED):

Check bungee tension on the recoil. If bungee is slack, tighten. If bungee is frayed, replace it. See SliderDynamic Service Manual for instructions.

TROUBLESHOOTING RAILS WHILE TRYING TO ROW, THE SLIDERDYNAMIC’S TOP RAIL IS ROLLING FORWARD OR HITTING THE RUBBER STOPS. The Slider Dynamic Rower needs to be set exactly level for optimal performance and to prevent the moving frame from rolling more to one end of the base rail frame than the other. Use the spirit level as a guide. Sit at the finish to see if the machine is level. • •

If you slide forward, you need to lower the rear leg. If you slide backwards, you need to raise it.

To check the bungee, stand the rower up. TURN RIGHT TO LOWER

TURN LEFT TO RAISE

EVERY 6 MONTHS:

• Oil the chain by applying oil directly to the chain and pulling several strokes to disperse the oil. • Vacuum the flywheel (you may do this more often if necessary).

EVERY 1-2 YEARS:

• Replace the Batteries in the SliderDynamic Monitor (4 AA Batteries). • Replace the bungee if frayed or slack (see replacing the bungee in the SliderDynamic Service Manual).

Make sure the height adjuster knobs on each side are set at the same level as one another so the weight of the Slider is evenly distributed. Once you are able to sit at the finish position without moving, your Slider is level. If your machine is level and you are still hitting the front or back stops, we recommend trying the One Leg Rowing Technique or 1/2 Slide Rowing to get used to the SliderDynamic’s Movement.

ONE LEG ROWING TECHNIQUE

To get a good understanding of how the SliderDynamic works, try the one leg rowing technique. 1. Place one foot on the footplate and the other on the floor outside the base frame. 2. Use the foot placed on the floor to hold the seat in a stationary position. 3. While holding the handle, push the front of the machine away with the foot on the footplate. 4. Take a few strokes to get the rhythm and range of movement while the one leg rows. 5. When ready, place the other leg onto the footplate and try rowing normally.

1/2 SLIDE ROWING

1/2 slide rowing will allow you to feel the movement of the Slider Dynamic without hitting the front/rear stops. Start at the catch, and row 1/2 of the full length for a few minutes. Once you find your rhythm, your seat will stay relatively stationary while the top rail slides back and forth underneath you, just as a boat would.

CHAIN IS SLACK AND NOT RECOILING Look inside flywheel chamber with a flashlight and see if chain has come off the idler sprocket. If it has, remove the corner cap using a 4mm Allen key and place the chain back on the idler sprocket gear.
