This news comes from a stevne planning session held February 17 at Alexandria, MN to consider committee reports and options for the summer meeting. Sigdal Lag was represented by Marilyn & Narv Somdahl; Helen Vinje, Land; Al & Ann Stevens, Ringerike - Modum - Eiker; Dr. Larry Opsahl, Toten; Palmer Rockswold" Mike Miller & Dean Sorum" Hadeland; Carole Nelson, Telemark; Coordinator Chet & Marlys Habberstad" Numedal. Besides the regular badges for stevne participants (and another to identify exhibitors), a special Thursday Genealogy badge will be new for 1990. Troll headquarters will be the student center--for registration, room keys, genealogy and individual lag meetings Saturday. On-campus housing will be at Haverty Hall or motels (listed elsewhere) if you wish air conditioned rooms. A shuttle bus will be used Friday and Saturday between the dorm and the student center. REGISTRATION and TICKETS: You will pay for only those cafeteria food items you choose except the NorweQian set-price meals Friday and Saturday evening which need to be arranged in advance. Please indicate how many other meals will be taken at the student center on the return form (p. 11) Coffee will be available in the student center, so baked goods are NOT solicited this year. DEMONSTRATIONS, in addition to genealogy Friday morning, will be held at both 9:30 and 11 AM. These include Judith Nelson's rosemaling, a film on stabburs and Hoover's bentwood technique construction for the tine storage box. GENEALOGY and ENTERTAINMENT offer a range of excellent possibilities, according to committee reports. There will be a $3 admission for each evening program payable at the door for those not wearing regular stevne badges.

Sigdal Lag marks the end of an era with the death of Don Berglund, 75, who led both the lag and the St. Olaf College Orchestra ably and well. (See page 4)
