DeposiCash® Overview DeposiCash® customers receive available credit the next business day for cash deposited into a smart safe that is serviced by an armored courier days before the physical cash is delivered to us. Not all armored courier programs are eligible for the DeposiCash® service.

Service Guidelines Safe Polling At the start of service, you and the armored courier determine the time which you want the safe to be “polled.” Polling the safe means that the armored courier remotely accesses the safe through the established communication protocol (VPN, DSL, Frame Relay, Dial-up, etc) at a specified time each day to determine the amount of cash deposited. The safe may only be polled once per day. You have the flexibility to determine the polling time that works best for your business; however, we recommend that you create a polling time after you have concluded business for the day. Using the entire day’s of cash receipts will facilitate your reconciliation of sales to the amount deposited to the bank. For example, if your business / location closes at 7:00 p.m., you may want to consider polling the safe at 8:30 p.m. to ensure that your employees have enough time to deposit all of the day’s sales to the safe. This will help you when balancing your accounts because it will be easier to find discrepancies, if any, by comparing a full day’s sales to a full day’s cash deposits.

Cash Cash deposits are posted on business days, Monday through Friday. Deposits made on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays are credited the next business day.

Checks While there are some safes that transmit checks electronically, most models do not offer that functionality. The base model safe has a drawer/slot where checks may be stored until pickup. If this method is used, the checks will be picked up by the armored courier when they come to service the safe and will be forwarded to BBVA Compass. The checks will not be processed until they are physically delivered to the bank, which depending on the pickup schedule from the armored courier, can be a delay of up to five business days. Even with a daily pickup, there is a day delay between the time that the armored courier picks up the deposits and when it is delivered to us due to the time the armored courier needs to prepare the deposit. This means that a deposit picked up on Wednesday will not be delivered until Friday and so on. Also, please remember that if you choose to have checks processed this way, you will need to provide a BBVA Compass deposit slip to the armored courier when they service the safe. Because of the delay, we do not recommend that customers store checks in the safe drawer/slot. If your company receives several checks from individuals/consumers, it will be more cost-effective for you to use a service that converts these checks into ACH items. If your company receives several checks from businesses which are not eligible for ACH conversion, please consider using our Compass Remote Deposit Online® service which enables you to scan these checks and deposit them electronically as late as 9:00 p.m. central time.

Deposit Preparation and Supplies For your cash deposits, the armored courier will prepare your deposit; you do not need to supply any deposit slips or bags as the safe prints out a receipt when the cash is picked up by the the armored courier guard. If you choose to store your checks in the safe, you will need to provide a deposit slip and deposit bag to the armored courier, so that they can deliver the checks to us for processing.

Location Reporting BBVA Compass credit is provided per day and per bank account. For example, if you have 10 locations depositing to a single bank account each day, you will see one deposit posted each business day to that account. The credit will be the sum total of deposits from all the locations tied to that account. You have the ability, through the armored courier’s application, to view the deposits made by each user at each safe.

Deposit Ticket Receipts Since credit is provided based upon the report from the safe rather than physical delivery of the cash, no deposit receipt ticket is mailed to you. Many of our customers already use Compass e-Access® for the balance reporting and other services. If you have image-enabled your Compass e-Access reporting, you can view images of the deposit ticket online through the previous day information reporting module. This method is preferable to many customers because it is faster than waiting for the deposit ticket to be delivered in the mail by USPS. Images are stored on the Compass e-Access system for 120 days and may be burned to a CD-ROM for extended long-term storage.

Deposit Adjustments BBVA Compass negotiated with the approved armored couriers for DeposiCash® to provide customers with a funds guarantee against counterfeit items to minimize the number of adjustments made to your account. Refer to your specific agreement with the armored courier for exact details.

Armored Car Pickup and Delivery You will establish the pickup of deposits and delivery of change orders directly with your armored courier at the time the service is implemented. Please address any concerns regarding pickup delays or changes directly with your armored courier. Note: There is a minimum of at least one armored courier pick up per week.

Remote Connection to Armored Courier (Network Connectivity) At the time the safe is installed, connectivity to the armored courier’s network from your location must be established to implement remote polling of the safe. BBVA Compass cannot provide credit without an established remote connection to the armored courier. We use the totals reported from the armored courier through their remote polling of the safe to determine the amount to credit to your bank account each business day.

Safe Maintenance Safe maintenance is provided by the armored courier and is established at the time the safe is installed. This service is not provided by BBVA Compass. Please use the contact numbers on the manual and training materials provided to you during installation to contact the armored courier for any questions regarding the safe or scheduling maintenance calls.
