The clinical subscales are conceptually based on theories of development and child trauma (Feindler, Rathus, & Silver, 2003, p. 209). The TSCC “was developed as a self-report scale for youths aged 7 to 16 years to assess distress and related symptoms after an acute or chronic trauma, not to assess the DSM-IV construct of PTSD specifically” (Ohan, Myers, & Collett, 2002, p. 1407). Theoretical Orientation TSCC is influenced by theories and research on development, Summary: child trauma, and children's reactions to a traumatic event (e.g., symptoms, posttraumatic stress). Domains Assessed: 1. Posttraumatic stress symptoms (child) 2. Validity of responses (child) 3. Depression (child) 4. Dissociation (child) 5. Sexual concerns (child) 6.
