Preparation before visits
Gaziosmanpaşa District is one of the largest districts in Istanbul, both area-wise and population-wise. The district has a population of 501.546, and for various reasons, it is a focal point of constant internal and external migrations. Under favour of this project, we, as a government organization, aimed to make a social fabric analysis and examine economical and socio-cultural effects of the emigrational activity. Our main goals are;
To enhance the sense of belonging to urban life and implement the phenomenon of urbanization
To convert the diversity due to the migration to cultural wealth
To ensure every person in the community to feel as a part of the solution when an urban problem occurs and to raise awareness.

We visit 3500 families every month. After one year, almost 28.000 doors are knocked in eleven neighborhoods and we informed 110.212 people

Inexpensiveness of the real estate property in the district, its central location within Istanbul, variety of the public transport and ease of reach to local administration and local authorities in case of need are the main factors of the internal migration to the district. Also, within the scope of this Project, quantitative detection of them and reporting and recording their effects and results are possible.
Also, one can see that occupants that migrated from other cities mostly migrated from counties and villages.
Data provided in the charts are prepared pursuant to 27.553 interviews made in eleven neighbourhoods. With regard to these data, 6% of citizens that dwell in Gaziosmanpaşa migrated from abroad while 41% migrated from other cities.

For families that have handicapped members that are detected during the interviews, a specific team of experts is established. After the detection of the handicapped people, this team of experts makes a second visit to ensure that the concerning citizen benefits from their rights, to detect their needs and provide private solutions for every family.
200 autistic children are provided with rehabilitation via swimming and hypo therapy and physiotherapy.

Citizens have the opportunity to address their requests, complaints and suggestions in the 25% part of the interview. While these problems are directly linked to the municipality, they may also be about other government organizations. In such cases, our personnel record the requests all the same and inform the related organization on behalf of the citizen. Thus the citizens don't have make an extra effort for their requests.
