letter AEROSPACE AND INDUSTRY Sealing Systems Aeronautics companies meet in Morocco Aeroexpo Maroc, the first international trade fair dedicated to both civil and military aeronautics industries and services in North Africa, took place in Marrakech from 23 to 26 January under the patronage of King Mohammed VI. More than 200 exhibitors attended the fair. LJF Sealants and Adhesives had a stand at this major event which brought together manufacturers, equipment suppliers, design offices and subcontractors. At the fair, LJF Sealants and Adhesives, along with its distributor Americ based near the Nouasser Technopole in Casablanca, were able to meet the major Moroccan aeronautics prime contractors (Aircelle Maroc, Labinal, Daher, MATIS, SERPM, EADS Maroc Aviation, etc.) and take stock of the contracts currently in progress. Morocco is on the way to becoming a key aeronautics centre given the increase in production rates expected by subcontractors currently based in Morocco and those planning to move into the country. PROTECTION AND CARE Baby Care 1st online retail website for NUK® UK NUK® has launched its first online retail website in the UK to meet increasing demand. The shop is an integral part of the new website www.nukbaby.com.uk. It started up at the beginning of the year and its roll-out was covered by the baby care-specialized press and various websites dedicated to baby care. Furthermore, the teams have been reinforced, not only to manage online retailing, but also to provide extensive advice, especially on nutrition. Robert Gibbons

Allègre Puériculture launches a viral marketing campaign in France As part of its Internet Communication Plan, Allègre Puériculture launched in November a viral marketing campaign to advertise the repositioning of the Tigex® flagship baby bottle by making internet users the ambassadors of the brand. 30,000 pregnant women in their last three months of pregnancy and 170,000 mothers of children less than a year old received an e-mail. In a single click, they could visit the website www.tigex.fr and discover its range of products. An e-advertising campaign was run in parallel to this e-mailing campaign. Advertising banners and streamers redirected internet users to the website featuring a competition to win a year’s free supply of baby bottles. This viral process allowed the website to considerably climb the ranks in search engines: Tigex® is thus the first brand displayed on the French version of Google. The campaign was also an opportunity for the brand to break its own records, with 46,500 single visitors in 4 weeks, an e-mail opening rate of 29.5%, a click rate higher than 55%, and banners seen by 640,000 contacts. Loyalty being rewarded Hutchinson is always very proud to thank its employees for their commitment and their loyalty. December was a fruitful month in terms of long-service medals. The Celaya (Mexico) plant thus rewarded 52 employees for 5 to 10 years of service. During 4 ceremonies in the United States, the sites of Grand Rapids and Cadillac, Michigan awarded a medal to 38 employees for 5 to 35 years of service at Hutchinson. Claudia Rodriguez
