FOOD There are many ways which food can be cooked. Some methods are healthier than others and often cooking methods can affect the taste and texture of food items. During this term you have cooked using a variety of different cooking techniques. You are to produce a fact sheet. It must include… - A list of as many different cooking techniques as possible. For each of the cooking techniques you have named you must then… - Identify 3 different foods that can be cooked using that method. - Explain the benefits of each of the cooking techniques (benefits could relate to health, taste, texture or appearance). - Explain any disadvantages linked to any of the cooking methods.

In order to make a new money box, you must first learn how to make products strong by learning about structures.

In this homework, you will begin to look at the differences between Natural and Man-Made Structures. You will use the worksheet to research the differences between Natural and Man-Made structures, further categorising them into Shell and Frame type structures. Collect the worksheet from your class teacher.

TASK Warming up is a vital part of every lesson. Your first task is to give three reasons why everyone should warm up before exercise. What things should you include in a warm up? In class you are learning about colour mixing with tints, tones and shades. You are drawing and painting leaves and animals whilst exploring colour and texture. You are looking at the work of Michael Adams and Eric Carle to inspire work based on tropical plants and jungle animals.

TASK Create a jungle scene filled with overlapping shapes. You could include leaves, trees, plants, insects and animal shapes. Ecosystems: Animal case study: In this topic you will learn about a range of animals and plants. It will be useful if you are already aware of how certain animals adapt to their environment in order to survive and reproduce.
