*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH A Modern Affirmation Let us affirm our faith. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare: We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, power, and love: whose mercy is over all his works, and whose will is ever directed to his children’s good. We believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of man: the gift of the Father’s unfailing grace, the ground of our hope, and the promise of our deliverance from sin and death. We believe in the Holy Spirit as the divine presence in our lives: whereby we are kept in perpetual remembrance of the truth of Christ, and find strength and help in time of need. We believe that this faith should manifest itself in the service of love, as set forth in the example of our blessed Lord, to the end that the kingdom of God may come upon the earth. Amen. *GLORIA PATRI

“O Love That Will Not Let Me Go”

Ralph Manuel

The Chancel Choir O Love that will not let me go, I rest my weary soul in Thee; I give thee back the life I owe, That in thine ocean depths its flow may richer, fuller be. O Light that followest all my way, I yield my flickering torch to thee; My heart restores its borrowed ray, That in thy sunshine's glow its day may brighter, fairer be. O Joy that seekest me through pain, I cannot close my heart to thee; I trace the rainbow through the rain, and feel the promise is not vain, That morn shall tearless be. O Cross that liftest up my head, I dare not ask to fly from thee; I lay in dust life's glory dead, And from the ground there blossoms red Life that shall endless be. Text: George Matheson, alt.

Sunday February the 2nd families of Middle and High School Students are invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall for a Sunday School Kickoff Brunch for 2014. February the 9th Pastor Luke Lingle will start teaching a parents Sunday school class that will follow the same curriculum that the Middle school and High School Youth are learning. M.O.M.S. Whether you’re a new mother or have been a matriarch for a while now, every mom needs some special support and words of encouragement along her journey of raising godly children. Central has formed a new group - M.O.M.S. M.O.M.S. meets weekly on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. in the Parlor at Central. Childcare is provided by the church. Please contact Sarah Bainbridge at [email protected]
