MIPJunior

October 5-6

MIPJunior is a key event, the weekend before MIPCOM, where influential international buyers, sellers and producers of kids programmes meet. Over two days, they present, discover and screen the very latest content. Which means they have a huge head start when it comes to sealing deals at MIPCOM. Keynote Given by a major player of the kids entertainment industry, and offering invaluable insights. Last year, we heard from Stuart Snyder, President/COO of Turner Animation. Previous keynote speakers have included Sam Register, Executive VP, Creative Affairs Warner Bros. Animation and Michael Poryes, Hannah Montana co-creator and Executive Producer.

The MIPJunior International Pitch Discover the next big hits of the kids entertainment industry in this competition where new projects are judged by a highly influential international panel. Last year’s winner was 4Direccionnes with OOOMMMOOO Yoga for Children (Colombia).

Kids Jury Award There is no more important judge of a kids programme than the kids themselves. There are 15 children on this jury, and producers find it invaluable to watch them watching the 15 previously unaired programmes. An instant barometer of what’s going to be hot.

“As a buyer you can put in two eight‑hour screening days, sample 100 series, and get a really good idea of the marketplace. And as a seller, you know this is the most efficient way to reach the most important people in the business.”

New in 2013: The Publishers Pitch
