d large parrts of 'Acht tung Baby y'. More precisely, In Berliin’s Hansa Studios U2 recorded they we ere recorde ed in Studio o 2, also ca lled 'The Big Hall by the Wall'. Th hat studio can also be seen n in the video for 'One e' (Berlin-V Version). The building was origin nally built as a a club house ffor the cons struction trrade guild i n 1910-1913. During the Secon d World War the it was hea avily dama aged, and after a tempo orary recon nstruction was w soon fo orgotten du ue to its peculiarr location – in the We estern part of the city,, but directtly at the Be erlin Wall. In 1976 the Meiisel-Musik-V Verlage (Meisel Musicc Publishers s) bought the t house a and fitted it i with a recordin ng studio, and a the Me eistersaal (‘ main hall’) was turned d into Stud dio 2. From then on some o of music history’s gre eats have u used the sttudio (inclu uding David d Bowie, Ig ggy Pop and De epeche Mod de), particu ularly for itts allegedly y very special sound.. U2’s prod ducer of many y years, Floo od (Mark Ellis) was originally the Hans sa Studio’ss sound engineer.
