Log-in I.

To log in enter your username and password (Your username and password will be emailed to you)

Registration Your Initial Registration I. II. III.

Enter your student number, full name, and contact address in the required fields. Enter your graduation year and year of school in the required fields at the bottom of the page. Note that the month of graduation should be June. Submit your registration information by clicking the submit button. Your registration information can then be found under Profile on the top navigation bar. You can change or update your information at any time.

Home Navigating the Homepage I. View at-a-glance features of The Source (Anouncements, Quicklinks, Calendar, Alerts etc.) by clicking on Home on the top navigation bar. II. View important events dates (Information Sessions, Career Fairs, etc.) by clicking on the highlighted days in the Calendar. III. Navigate to other sections by clicking on the links on the top navigation bar.

Profile Building a personal profile I. Build a personal profile (contact information, change password, etc.) by clicking on Profile on the top navigation bar. II. Click on the Personal Information tab to update email address and other contact information. III. Click on the Academic Information tab to update your year of study, program, and year of graduation. IV. Update system access by clicking on the Password/Preferences tab to change your password. * Please make sure your profile is up to date. Student Services uses the profile information to limit the volume of email students receive and as a way to contact you in the event of an urgent message requiring your attention.

View the document library by clicking on Documents on the top navigation bar. It should open to the Document Library tab showing a list of all of the documents uploaded by Student Services. You can sort the document list by document type (Recruitment MAG, uOttawa Fellowships and Travel Bursaries, etc.) by utilizing the drop-down menus at the top. You are able to search for specific documents by inputting keywords (eg. Manitoba) into the Keyword Search box, and then click the Apply Search button. To search for a keyword within all documents in the library, ensure that the Type field is blank before hitting Apply Search. View the document by clicking on the document name in the Title column. When viewing the document, the icons at the top can be used to print, save, or send the document by email.

View job postings by clicking on Jobs on the top navigation bar. Sort the job list by Practice Area, Position Type, etc. by utilizing the drop-down menus at the top. Find a specific job by inputting details into the Keyword Search box, and then click the Apply Search button Mark a job as a “favorite” by clicking on the “Add to Favorites” icon on the right. View all of your favorite jobs under the Favorites tab. Review Position Details by clicking on the job title. • Once the job posting is open you are able to review the Posted Date and Résumé Submission Deadline by utilizing the Important Dates feature on the right.

Advanced Job Search VII. VIII. IX. X. XI. XII.

Refine the job list by clicking on the Advanced Search tab. Save the advanced search as a search agent by clicking Save As, and then inputting Search Agent name. Select Locations, Position Types, etc. to run a combination search for the jobs list. Run the search by clicking the Submit button. • The search results will display under the Search Results tab. View a list of your search agents by clicking on the Search Agents tab. Review and/or edit a Search Agent by clicking the Search Agent’s name in the Label column. On the right hand side under Options you can Schedule, Edit, Run or Delete your Search Agent. • If you want The Source to run your search for you either daily/weekly/monthly, click on Schedule under Options and click Enable and set a time Period and a Multiple (how often the search will be run), and then click the Submit button. • CSM will run enabled Search Agents automatically, and then email the results.

* Please remember that you are responsible for conducting your own job search. While the search agents are great feature, you should be checking the posting regularly since your dream job may not be captured by the search.

Employers Researching Employers I. II. III. IV. V. VI.

View information about employers by clicking on Employers on the top navigation bar. To search for a specific employer, input details into the Keyword Search box on the top right, and then click the Apply Search button. Place an employer under the Favorite Employers tab by clicking on the Add to Favorite button in the Options column. View your list of preferred employers by clicking on the Favorite Employers tab. Take employers out of Favorites by clicking on the Remove from Favorites button in the Options column. View an employer profile and any positions available by clicking on the underlined employer name in the Title column.

Events Information Sessions I. II.

View upcoming information sessions by clicking on Events on the top navigation bar and then clicking on the Information Sessions tab. View information session information, and rsvp for the event by clicking on the desired information session name link.

Calendar Important Dates and Personal Events I.

View important dates for the upcoming weeks by clicking on Calendar on the top navigation bar. The page will open to a highlight on the events for the current day. To see a breakdown of your day/week/month/year or personal events click on the appropriate tab. Review important dates by clicking on the highlighted dates in the inset calendar on the right under the day/week/month/year tabs. Click on the name of the Event to view event details. You can create, review and/or update events that do not automatically appear on the calendar by clicking on the calendar. A text box will open to allow you to input an event and time. Important dates and events will also show up in the calendar on the left hand side under Home when you log on.
