The winegrower members of the Saint-Emilion Wine Council decided to set up The Boutique as an official display of Saint-Emilion, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Lussac Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion appellation wines. There are more than 450 wines for sale here at estate prices. The Boutique’s team of knowledgeable sales people provides information and recommendations on the wines in stock. Please note that the Saint-Emilion Boutique is open every day of the year.

Meet winegrowers

Every afternoon, winegrowers come to the Saint-Emilion Maison du Vin to meet visitors, share knowledge and talk about their work, and of course let you taste their wines! This is a great opportunity to spend some time with a winegrower from our appellation areas. Period: The French school holiday period. Summer: from 14 July to 1st September and the weekend of 14 and 15 September 2013. 4

THE EXHIBITION (Free entry)  With an interactive video area and a choice of programs to learn more about the Saint-Emilion winegrowing area and its wines.  And a permanent exhibition entitled “Vine and Wine Seasons” consisting of a collection of photos and a learning experience based on the different appellations and the work of a winegrower.

THE AROMA TABLE (Free entry) Test your sensitivity to the aromas of Saint-Emilion, Lussac Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion wines with the “aroma table”. Enjoyment for adults and children.

THE WINE SCHOOL

Learn about Saint-Emilion, Lussac Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion wines Wine School introductory and more advanced sessions are taught all year round by an oenologist. They enable individuals or groups to cover the different aspects of wine tasting.

THEMED TASTINGS Introduction to Tasting DURATION: 90 minutes. Price: €35 per person (minimum of 6 people in a group).  Aromas and tastes of the Saint-Emilion grape varieties  Tasting with commentary of 6 wines: Saint-Emilion, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé, Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé, Lussac Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion Tasting for Blending DURATION: 2 hours. Price: €45 per person (for a minimum of 6 people and no more than 20). Blend your own wine from individual grape varieties and invent your own product! Play and learn about the aromatic and taste characteristics of Saint-Emilion wines:  Tasting of 6 different samples  Make your own blend

Saint-Emilion Summer Sessions

SUMMER SESSIONS The Wine School offers initiations to the art of tasting for individuals. These sessions are held every day from 11 am to 12.30 am from mid-July to the beginning of September. You can register at the Maison du Vin or by telephone. Price: €25 per person. Other dates are available: 14th and 15th September 2013, and from 1st to 3rd November 2013. Also by request for groups of at least 6 people. Tel. +33 557 555 055 These sessions are run in French or English.

GROUP COURSES ALL YEAR LONG The Wine School offers courses of one hour to a whole day for groups of 6 or more people all year round. The sessions include different approaches and activities: initiation to the art of tasting, tastings with commentary, comparative tastings, olfactory and tasting tests, in-depth presentations of wines and terroirs, matching wine and food at special tasting meals. No more than 34 places are available at any one session. VENUE:

The air-conditioned Tasting Room of the Saint-Emilion Maison du Vin. Sessions of more than 2 hours may be held at some of the great Saint-Emilion chateaux.

WINE SCHOOL – SESSIONS AVAILABLE MODULE 1 - INTRODUCTION TO TASTING DURATION: 1 hour PROGRAM:  Initiation to the art of tasting: sensory analysis - description of the visual, olfactory and taste sensations produced by a wine  Tasting with commentary of Saint-Emilion, Lussac Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion wines

MODULE 2 – TASTING AND KNOWING SAINT-EMILION WINES DURATION: 2 hours PROGRAM:  Introduction to Saint-Emilion: its history, its terroirs, the grape varieties, the appellations, the wine classification, how great Saint-Emilion, Lussac SaintEmilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion wines are made  Initiation to the art of tasting: sensory analysis - description of the visual, olfactory and taste sensations produced by a wine - and practice in recognising aromas, tastes and flavours  Tasting with commentary of Saint-Emilion, Lussac Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion wines. 7

MODULE 3 – HALF A DAY GETTING TO KNOW SAINT-EMILION WINES DURATION:  Short 5-hour half-day from 2 pm to 7 pm  Long 8-hour half-day from 2 pm to 10 pm with dinner PROGRAM:  Your are welcomed at the Saint-Emilion Maison du Vin for a detailed presentation on Saint-Emilion, an introduction on how to taste Saint-Emilion, Lussac SaintEmilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion wines and a tasting of different estate wines  Tour of the old town of Saint-Emilion  Trip to a Saint-Emilion Chateau with a guided tour of the vineyard and cellars, and a tasting with commentary  Tasting dinner in a Saint-Emilion restaurant with an oenologist (“long” half-days only)

MODULE 4 – A DAY TO GET TO KNOW SAINT-EMILION WINES DURATION:  Short 9-hour day from 9 am to 6 pm  Long 12-hour day with tasting dinner from 9 am to 10 pm PROGRAM:  You are welcomed at the Saint-Emilion Maison du Vin for a detailed presentation on Saint-Emilion, an introduction on how to taste Saint-Emilion, Lussac Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion wines and a tasting of different estate wines  Tour of the old town of Saint-Emilion  Trip to a Saint-Emilion Chateau with a guided tour of the vineyard and cellars, a tasting with commentary followed by a buffet with wines  Travel to Union de Producteurs de Saint-Emilion, tour the facilities and taste a range of different wines  Travel to a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé estate, with a guided tour of the vineyard and cellars, and a tasting with commentary  Tasting dinner in a Saint-Emilion restaurant with an oenologist (“long” days only) 8
