The Romans were in town …. Year 4 enjoyed a Roman day on Wednesday, taking part in activities such as Roman numeral challenges, Roman games, a battle, Roman legionnaire tactics, Mosaic making and a Roman feast! Thank you to the parents for helping their children dress for the occasion.

Battle of the Books On Tuesday, four members of year 2 represented Town Farm at the Spelthorne School Together, Battle of the Books competition. The pupils were Natalia Kapakova, Teegan-Tahani Harcourt, Maryam Siddiqi and Ruhan Shrestha. Over the Christmas holidays the children had been given six books to read and to get to know well. There were two rounds. In the first round the teams were asked to answer questions and write a character description. The second round was an art round. As you can see from the picture the team made a wonderful hat! The morning session ended with a story teller. Although the team were not placed they did their best and were a credit to the school. Well done to all the team.

TOWN FARM NEWS Hi! We hope that you enjoyed last weeks issue, we have added more fun things, so read on!

in Nursery, but left to go to Italy with her family. She came back for a term last year. She sent us a lovely 'thank you' card:

On Tuesday, chosen Year 2's represented the school in 'The Battle of the Books!' TeeganTahani Harcourt, Ruhan Shrestha, Maryam Siddiqi & Natalia Kapakova all fabulously competed in the challenge. "I really enjoyed the activities there especially the art round ! "-Teegan-Tahani "I had lots of fun!"-Ruhan "I really enjoyed participating!"-Maryam Well Done! Did you all enjoy some yummy pancakes on Tuesday? We hope you did as it was Shrove Tuesday; Pancake Day!! Do you know why we have pancakes on Shrove Tuesday? Well, the days before Lent (when Jesus walked across the desert without food or water for 40 days and 40 nights), people would use up the eggs, milk and fatty foods as it was forbidden to eat them during Lent. Using the foods they would not eat, they used up making pancakes. The next day is Ash Wednesday. This marks the beginning of Lent. You can give something up for Lent, to show the sacrifices Jesus had to make by not having any food or drink. What are you going to give up? Palm Sunday represents the end of Lent, (which does not include Sundays!!)

Jokes and Riddles!

WE NEED YOU!! We need more people in our school's Hockey and Netball clubs. If you are interested please come to Mrs Dredge. There are only limited spaces available!! Netball Club Tuesday @ 3.20pm Hockey Club Thursday @ 3.20pm Last year, Jessica Zen came to Town Farm for the Summer Term. She made alot of friends and loved her time here. She first came to Town Farm
