House Incumbents Andrew Tobin Lucy Mason District Overview: Covering a huge swath of the State including Coconino and Yavapai Counties, LD1 lies in north-central Arizona in a largely rural area. Major cities include Prescott, Sedona, Cottonwood and Williams. Agriculture is prevalent in the rural areas while Sedona and the Grand Canyon are tourism juggernauts.

Political Overview: LD1 is dependably conservative with Republicans holding a registration advantage of 20,000 over Democrats and voter turnout in the 80% range. Largely rural; water, taxes, land-use and development are key issues in LD1. The political center of gravity in the district is Prescott and its northern suburbs. Secretary of State Ken Bennett is a product of, and still lives in, Prescott.

While issues affecting the district are primarily tribal and rural in nature, the region is also concerned with many power and conservation issues.
