F2 600cc Sidecar Isle of Man TT Winner

This month’s Member’s Ride comes to us from New Zealand couple, Tracey and Steve Bryan from Sherson Auto Centre in Tauranga. Their unique sidecar has an extensive racing history and the couple have pushed the boundaries of sidecar racing in New Zealand and have taken their talents to racing circuits in Australia during the 2016 season. At the age of 30, Tracey decided to have a go at sidecar racing to see what the fuss was about. Fast forward twelve years and she is still racing. Tracey is the only woman who rides a Road Race sidecar in New Zealand, competing on both tracks and road circuits. Tracey and Steve are also the only married couple to podium a sidecar and recently finished third in the first round of the Australian National Championships at Sydney Motorsport Park (formerly Eastern Creek). The couple are certainly upholding the racing pedigree of ‘Pinky’, their F2 600cc sidecar. Prior to purchasing it a few years ago, Dave Molyneux built and raced the sidecar to victory in the 1996 Isle of Man race, marking one of his seventeen victories in the iconic event. Sidecar racing is certain in Tracey and Steve’s blood, they will continue to take on New Zealand’s best and after a few dominante races, they are stamping their authority on the Australian circuit as well. They also hinted that an appearance at the Isle of Man event isn’t out of the question. Congratulations to Tracey and Steve on their unique Member’s Ride as well and their racing successes. Therefore, should subsequent customers pay less for the expertise a workshop has accumulated, by being charged only the

The next one is a little easier and with a newly purchased tool the timing belt job is done in 4.5 hours. By the time the third similar vehicle arrives for the same repair, the workshop is able to complete the job in just 3.5 hours. What is the charge?

A job should be charged out based on what a job is worth, not how long it takes.

Every job is worth a certain value, in which the labour time should play one small part in determining that value.
