Day Camp is separated into age groups and features a rotation of diverse activities revolving around a weekly theme, including: indoor games, outdoor recreation, team challenges, structured and free swim, time in our interactive arcade, gaming tournaments, creative learning projects, arts & crafts, field trips, and SO MUCH more. Children progress from simple choreography and scripts to Improv and Sketch Comedy.
Dance - That’s Entertainment Ages: Rising K -5th Grade Dates: Week 3 (6/27-7/1) & Week 7 (7/25-7/29) Cost: $150 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $175 Non Members Time: 1pm-4pm An outrageously fun camp of dancing, singing and acting! This camp is full of fantastic dance, music and drama games that will have your child entertained while learning techniques in dance, voice and acting. Performing Arts are known to build confidence, foster creativity and improve communication skills. Campers will learn a hip-hop dance, a fun song to sing and hysterical improvisation drama scenes. At the end of the week, our That’s Entertainment campers will perform for you!
Broadway Bound Ages: Rising 3rd - 5th Grade Dates: Week 1 (6/13-6/17) Cost: $150 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $180 Non Member Time: 9am-12pm Broadway Bound is a one-week intensive camp focused on Theater Arts. Campers have the opportunity to create characters, learn choreography, build their confidence, and think on their feet. At the end of the week, campers will put on a show for friends and family.
Cheer Ages: Rising K -5th Grade Dates: Week 6 (7/18-7/22) Cost: $100 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $125 Non Members Time: 1pm-4pm Come enjoy a week of dancing, cheering, stunting and technique at our Cheer Camp! Campers will learn a short routine and get to perform for the parents and the rest of the kids on the Friday of camp!

Digital Citizenship & Online Safety
Ages: Rising 3rd-8th Grade Dates: Week 4 (7/5-7/8) Cost: $175 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $205 Non Members Time: 9am-12pm Looking for a way for your camper to become more “media smart”? Digital Citizenship will teach campers to balance the responsibility that comes with accessing the ever changing digital world. Lessons will include topics such as internet safety, privacy, security and more.

Ages: Rising 1st-8th Grade Dates: Week 2 (6/20-6/24) & Week 7 (7/25-7/29) Cost: $175 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $205 Non Members Time: 12pm-3:30pm Drone camp will introduce students to world of drones by discussing flight theory, practicing on simulators, and taking a DJI Inspire out for a spin. Students will learn to work the controls of the drone and camera operations.

They’ll learn to create different styles of movies. At the end of the week, camp will showcase their videos so campers can share their finished projects.
Filmmakers’ Workshop
Ages: Rising 4th-12th Grade Dates: Week 1(6/13-6/17) & Week 2 (6/20-6/24) Cost: $175 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $205 Non Members Time: 9am-12pm Students will learn the exciting behind the scenes techniques of filmmaking. They will learn visual effects, green screen, editing, music, camera work, and more culminating in an original production. Students will gain experience with Apple iPad, iMovie and other associated apps, plus they will be utilizing a variety of video production gear.
iPad Claymation
Ages: Rising 2nd-8th Grade Week 1 (6/13-6/17) & Week 6 (7/18-7/22) Cost: $175 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $205 Non Members Time: 9am-12pm Campers will expand their imaginations and explore the exciting world of claymation through a wide range of projects and animation techniques. They will collaborate with other students to dream up characters and stories that will come to life on the screen. Campers will learn how to storyboard, build scenery, create effective narratives, and actually make their own claymation movies using the iPad.
iPad Game Design

Experience a fun week of learning game development software. Campers will create 2D video games in minutes, which they can then share with their friends. This is a great way to introduce your child to programing and game development- without learning how to code.

With ALL NEW builds, campers will delve deeper into the wonderful world of Minecraft with the Enderdragon, Snow Golems, Witches and Withers. Campers will face new challenges each day, building motorized Bricks4Kidz models and crafting key elements from the popular Minecraft game. Whether or not your child has attended our Minecraft camp previously, this camp is TOTALLY NEW for Summer 2016! Campers will have the opportunity to build their own virtual Minecraft world on iPads before bringing their designs to life by building new mob figures, mosaics and custom models, incorporating LEGO® bricks. We will visit another arcade outside of the AC as well as split up the gaming with some aquatic fun during the week.
Star Wars Galaxy Camp Ages: Rising 1st-8th Grade Dates: Week 1 (6/13-6/17) & Week 2 (6/20-6/24) Cost: $150 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $180 Non Members Time: 9am-12pm Campers will be propelled into the Star Wars Universe, complete with Legoconstruction, puzzles, drawing, film clips, John Williams’ musical scores, and trivia contests. Week 3–Superheroes ALL NEW Superheroes and Villains will be joining us at camp this year! Each day campers will get to know our greatest allies from The Avengers, X-Men, Justice League and much more! We’ve also added a twist to our super popular Superhero Camp, because what’s a superhero without a super villain? Build The Joker, Venom and Two-Face out of LEGO® mosaics. We will “continent hop” through the world exploring the unique flavors and cultures of different countries and regions. Each child will prepare a complete family meal which they can enjoy at the end of class or take home to share with their family. By camp’s end, campers will have a personal cookbook that they will want to revisit again and again!

More and more, college admissions officers report that they prioritize the application essays over other aspects of the admissions process, such as test results. This is a workshop in which students will be guided in the composition of a college application essay. Each student will end the workshop with a polished essay to use with his or her college applications.
Diving into Spanish Ages: Rising 2nd-8th Grade Dates: Week 7 (7/25-7/29) Cost: $100 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $130 Non Members Time: 12pm-3:30pm Campers will explore different cultures, traditions, and cuisines of Spanish-speaking countries while also using and practicing conversational Spanish. Chess Camp Ages: Rising 1st-6th Grade Dates: CDS Only (6/6-6/10), Week 3 (6/27-7/1) & Week 5 (7/11-7/15) Cost: $170 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $200 Non Members Time: 9am-12pm The focus of our chess camp this year will be on tactics and the traps and zaps that decide the game. In the big moments, it takes a creative checkmate or strategy. Campers will look at how beginners and advanced players alike can learn from the great chess players and how they handled game situations. The camp will also feature chess team-based activities and indoor soccer, a chess camp tradition!

The strategies that will be taught are designed to help campers earn better grades, work more efficiently, and develop confidence.
CSI Forensic Science Ages: Rising 3rd-8th Grade Dates: Week 2(6/20-6/24) Cost: $250 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $280 Non Members Time: 9am-3:30pm Criminals beware and kids prepare during this week long super fun and educational crime scene investigative camp! Campers will enjoy collecting and studying dental impressions and fingerprints of their fellow forensic campers. They will be checking out tool marks left at the scene of a crime, analyzing mysterious powders, and discovering hidden clues in counterfeit checks. These are just a few of this camp’s amazing activities.

Summer Equestrian Camp Ages: Rising 1st- 9th Grade Dates: All 8 weeks (6/13-8/5) Cost: $325 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $360 Non Members Time: 9am-12pm Campers will experience daily horseback riding, education, games and crafts, and will be exposed to many aspects of horsemanship in a safe and fun environment. Campers should wear pants, hard-soled boots with a heel, and sunscreen. Campers should bring plenty of water and a snack.

Junior Stars Tennis Ages: 4-7 Dates: All 8 weeks (6/13-8/5) Cost: $115 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $140 Non Members Time: 9am-11am Using the 10 and under tennis format of low compression balls (red and orange) we will introduce your child to the life-long game of tennis. The goal will be to learn the basics in a fun environment. Each week will culminate in team games and matches.
half day SPORTS camps Junior Golf Ages: Rising 1st- 10th Grade Dates: All 8 Weeks (6/13-8/5) Cost: $160 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $170 Non Members Time: 8:30am-11:30am Campers will enjoy learning the fundamentals of golf, as well as the rules and etiquette of the game through fun and exciting programs and drills. During the camps, we will practice on and off the course. Camps will cover grip, posture, ball position, alignment, swing, balance and feel. Instruction is individually catered to students based on their individual learning style and skill level. A daily snack and water are included.

Campers will be grouped according to age and skill. Appropriate drills with correct fundamentals will be taught based on their level of play. Each group will have matches, points, strategy and games. Basic techniques of dribbling, passing, and shooting will be the focus. The week will end World Cup style with each team representing a different country for a fun competition.

Softball Ages: Rising 1st-8th Grade Dates: Week 2 (6/20-6/24) Cost: $150 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $180 Non Members Time: 9am-12pm CDS Softball camp introduces young girls to this sport and helps older girls perfect their existing skills on the field. Topics covered in the camp include defensive training, warm-ups, running drills, throwing, field mechanics and scrimmages. Players will be divided by age and ability level, with breaks in between for fun games and competitions.

Through our varsity coaches and players, campers will learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning - all presented in a fun & positive environment. The week ends with the Patriots Sports Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron!

Teams will be created on day one, and we will compete in various events through out the camp. Competition will be awarded with medals, as well as a coveted spot on the Cheval Olympic trophy for one full year!

Martial Arts Ages: Rising K -8th Grade Dates: Week 1 (6/13-6/17), Week 3 (6/27-7/1), Week 5 (7/11-7/15), Week 7 (7/25-7/29) & Week 8 (8/1-8/5) Cost: $100 Cheval Members & CDS Students / $130 Non Members Time: 9am-12pm Week 1- All Ball Campers will enjoy a week full of friendly competition and teamwork while playing games such as Nunchuck Baseball, Dodgeball, Volleyball, Crab Soccer and more! But this IS martial arts all ball camp...get ready to play like a ninja! Week 3- Nerf Ready, Aim, Fire! This week is all about NERF!! Campers will experience target practice, tactical training games, an obstacle course, and team building activities. Our favorite NERF games include: Capture the Flag, Hunger Games, Attack and Defend and Save the Sensei! With soft foam darts, protective eyewear for all participants, and played in a fun and controlled environment. This camp is for everyone! Week 5-Belt/Nanchuck Sensei Tuller’s number one priority is safety. She starts out with focusing on some of the beginner basics like figure eight patterns and passes, then branches into the intermediate realm of techniques, combinations and other exciting moves to help with focus, hand/eye coordination and skills. If you have never picked up a pair of nunchucks and have always been curious then this is the camp for you. Includes nunchucks, which the campers get to keep! Week 7-Nerf Ready, Aim, Fire!
