The People Speak about Emeagwali Some Famous, Some Little Known

“I don't know what got me to your site but the good thing is that I'm here.... You're such an icon in the scientific world” Hon. Sir Ralph Adjavie-Jarvis, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada “It is always a privilege and an intellectual feast to visit the web site of Phillip Emeagwali.” Adebayo-Begun. Oba , Ile-Ife, Nigeria “Sir, I have always wanted to see you since I heard about you some two years ago. Sir, from that very day, I have been visiting your website virtually everyday to see my mentor in life.” Usiosefe Ikponmwosa, Benin, Nigeria “My friends, down here at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, address me as "Emeagwali-isi miri." It's because I'm kind of bright and purposely chose to identify with my fellow Igbo brother (or Uncle). Einstein and Newton do not influence me as much as u do. Your case is so real to me.” - Onyi

Mr emeagwali.ride on may all u wish to achieve be successful.Meanwhile i have awarning to all my the igbos especially the anambrarians to be careful.a plot is going on in the high places .the beast in human flesh call obasanjo want to use the state to plunge us into war against ourselves to deny us 2007 presidential election.iam warning cos if we dont take time the whole problem will spill over to other states.u all know how much many nigerians hate and envy us.which obj is part of it.someone will say what is nwagbara doing, but 20 nwagbaras cannot challenge obj cos he is incapacitated and doesnt have all takes upstairs as well .pls peter obi, chekwas okorie, etc pls forget the election in anambra.we know apga won ,but let us all sit together as brothers and shame obasanjo and his cohorts.the confessions he made was true but why now ,when the igbos are getting there house together.let him go on and destroy his own state and not ours.

Hello my hero the very best of Nigeria for those who understand loves you i really want to be like u but i am from a very poor family

This is an evidence of the uncomparable long-rooted african might in humility and perseverance, besides, this is a knock-out to the racist notion that africans are not for maths/sciencebased human endeavours. The truth is: Every human if given the

right background and encouragement, heaven is the limit to which he or she could aspire and rise. It does not matter if you are black or white, the best assurance for the progress of any society is dependent upon the OPPORTUNITIES and BACKGROUND which the individuals inherit or are exposed to which in turn is the determinant for the level and quality of education and awareness the individuals will attain and not on the number of children the people in the society can produce. 273) Corey Vinson Jones [email protected] Location: Los Angeles, California USA

Hi, Great Brother and Scientist I am an African-American male and I want to thank you for representing our best and what we can be. I know our African history from the beginning of time, out power and accomplishments in history and in the present is so much apart of me i see our superiority over all races. I have learned that fact are much more grounding than mere belief. We must connect our children to our past and more importantly we must unite worldwide without delay. I pray that our people wake up this Invisible War being waged against our people worldwide. We must face the ugly truth and be willing to risk life to set things straight, why? Because we owe it to our fore-fathers and our children. Out fathers worked hard to bring light to the world and to other races only to be demonized. We

were a beautiful and proud people..then made to be what we are percieved today by a evil and jealous people out to conquer the world; foolishly and sadly. And our children deserves the history our ancestors has worked so hard to prove; our strength, intelligence, humility, power, will, and love for all in God's creation. Please join hands Black people worldwide for the coming of God and good on earth and let's bring back the legacy of our fathers! 272) Sylvester Kalu Upkai [email protected] Location: -

Dear Dr Emeagwali I so much admire your ways of life, and i really adore sense of hunmour, because i got a slight opportunity during your days, and you did make good use of it. You are indeed talented. And so much for the inspirations you gave to my life, through your site and family back ground.

altho i must confess i never knew dat the internet was invented by an african, i have always believed that with the likes of wole soyinka, nelson mandela, nguigi wa tiong, and now emeagwali african are brilliant. yes! brilliant and very much so. the question i cant stop asking myself and which i'd love anyone who can produce the answer to mail me is that "what is the fundamental problem with we africans dat with all the great brains we are still very backward, we cant stop killing ourselves senselessly and we are showing no sign of improving?" is there any hope for us at all or are we doomed to remain the virtual cavemen we still are until the end of time?

Prof. Emiagwali you are great and you have proven without doubt that there is no limit to anything you want to achieve in this world.I am a young Architect in Tanzania who is fighting to realise my dreams in my profession.CONGRATULATIONS and thank you for changing my thinking toward a positive side.I looking foward hearing more from your work.

Prof. Great Emeagwali is a super-genius and a Magnificent role model for African race. he breaks the ceiling. Am a South Sudanese national, but African nationality is my first identity. When I accidentally came across AFROCENTRIC website, I found many African scientists along with Dr. Emeagwali then I was overexcited to know that. At its worst, their names have not published for academic purposes that their achievements may motivate black students and scholars alike. I would urge all black students and scholars to make our scientists and great leaders known. We should write our essays, research papers and books that portray the beauty and rich culture and civilization of African ancestry. If we will not do it, no body will do it. Am proud to an African!!!!

congratulations on winning of O.F.R.

I am very proud to see Mr. Philip Emeagwali online noted for all of his great accomplishments. He is someone great and inspirational to African Americans like me. I am doing a presentation on Wed. Oct. 27th for my Electronics class and I choose to do my presentation on Mr. Philip Emeagwali! I am a technology education major in my sophmore year of college. I am proud to be doing a presentation on him in front of about 30 white Americans in my class. They all haven't heard of him or his inventions and accomplishments with the internet and oil fields. I am honored to be presenting on this man. I have done lots of research on him and i feel he needs to be noted more often for his inventions! In my

computer science class i took last semester here in college, I was never told of all his great discoveries with the internet. I wish I was told this and his information needs to be put in more textbooks for ALL people to learn about. I will pass my knowledge on to many people. We are not from the oppurtuned side but some of us have the innate desire for success in our field and hope to get more encouragement not just by word of mouth but practicality of effort. Just keep up your good representation we appreciate your effort. Friday, 15. October 2004 18:30 IP: 62.192.140.146

Thank U for remembering Ur root Nigeria, Africa as evidenced in ur septermber 18 2004 speech.

I have had much about U and really want to identify with u

I have just read your address delivered on the 18th of September in Washington. You clearly demonstrated the importance of perseverance. Too many people give up when victory is within their grasp. Your life is a shining example to everyone. Please continue to share your experience with the world. Friday, 15. October 2004 09:16 IP: 10.150.0.68

Mr. Emeagwali is simply a living role model son of Africa. He is an example of the fruits of hard work and persistence. What ever u do, do it with all your heart and you will surely get a breakthrough. Friday, 15. October 2004 08:42 Host: pc067021.bmed.umds.ac.uk

Very nice web site, Smile

Jesus love you!

This is a realy great site! And Uncle Phil, you are really a great inspiration to all of us Africans, especially we Nigerians. The question used to be, "Can anything good come out of 'Nija'?" Now, with you as a flagbearer,we can proudly say, "Yes". I am a motivator, among other things, and I've been searching for Nigerian role models to present to our fellow Nigerians. Now you've given us the gift of yourself. We are truly thankful to God for you. A big thanks also to "Mama Emeagwali" ,for beside every successful man there's a woman. Keep doing us proud.

You have made us proud.that is just the tip of isberg.world has not seen anything yet. May God be with you and all of us. cheers

I come from small Island of Zanzibar, found in East Africa. I have visited your wibe site several time and have talked about it to many of my friends. My request to you is that distribute books freely about yourself to many African countries. Here in Africa we don't read about our fellow Africans. The books we have are about Europeans. Hence many of us think that the Africans have no place in this world. Your have proved contrary. we are something like other races. Finally, I CONGRATULATE YOU FOR ALL ACHIEVEMENTS YOU HAVE GOT. Dr. Emeagwali your work is very important to me and to the world. I hope that you will come to Puerto Rico some day. "Measure yourselves from the dephts from which you have come.." Frederick Douglass 1817-1895

Prof. is great and a genus but we lack his wisdom in Africa and Nigeria. What do we gain if his wisdom continues to elude us in a Country ranking sixth among the richest oil producers in the world and still have over 70% of its citizens living below poverty level. Is it true also that professors are not acceptable in their own land? It is well with you prof. but what ever you do, the home is where the heart is.

Well done on such a good page. I have just returned to the UK from a security consultancy that I gave to the EDO STATE Gov. I felt a bit let down by the use of force by the police in Lagos and the amount of corrupt officers who stopped us when driving to Benin. But I loved the locals in Lagos West who looked after me and helped me enjoy my stay. I felt so happy with the family that took me under their wing that I have sponsered their son to go to University. I shall be returning in the New Year. I hope we can make some improvements to help with security for the people and families throughout Africa. Damian

Hello sir, Its really nice to have an opportunity like this to read about your exploits in the field of science.

I was introduced to this site by my son, Leonard Edeawe Okosor; a Computer Science graduate of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State. Philip, a great site you have got here. You have sure brought joy and sense of belonging to the continent of Africa and Nigeria in particular. We are indeed very proud of you. Keep the " green- white-green flag flying, boy.

I am very very proud of Prof. Philip Emeagwali. He has done Africa and Nigeria great. As far as I am concerned this is just the begining........ Watch out for part 2

Dear Sir, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. Sir, it bring tears to my heart evertime I see our people glorifying Europeans and dismissing our culture directly and indirectly, form the very top down to the little children. But then when I turn to your site plus books by conscientious Africans (in the diaspora & on the continent) this gives me hope that perhaps one day we will all wake up. Our elder will realise their

foolish ways, be enlightened and transfer this enlightenment to younger generations. This, I believe will give us a little push to reach our full potiential. Well, I was only ment to wish you a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY. May the Gods (& Goddesses) of our ancestor guide and protect you and all that are yours (Amun Ra) Finally. Please, please be very careful from whom you eat and drink. Many conscious Nubian had fallen because of this. I am not religious, but I strive to be spritually intune with nature. technologies let alone inventinf! More anointing from the Internet and Supercomputing world to you sir. 36) Wilson Ometan [email protected] Location: London

Sunday, 22. August 2004 12:51 Host: webgw2.mh.bbc.co.uk It is refreshing to see and hear that Nigeria has people of your calibre. It is even more refreshing that you are still with zeal and patriotism for your home land. Your websites speaks this much. My worry is how we can change the rot in Nigeria. Is it by social revolution where the capitalists are non-existent or hidden? Because; for there to be revolution, the capitalists must enslave the masses but this is not so in our country, instead what we have is a feudal system cloaked in militocracy. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not a politician but a concerned patriotic citizen like you are. Certainly, we have to change it one day. However, my sincere congratulations and gratitude for your feat displayed to the world and the subsequent elevation of Nigeria's name. Kind regards Wilson Ometan

I am a computerscience student from the southern part of nigeria,i am very happy for having a nigerian as the masterminder of the computer/internet,i wish to really meet with proff.emeagwali so that i can get to know and learn some of his secrets that has made him rule the world so fast.I just need some lecture note from him through my e-mail address on different aspects of computer science, because i would like to be involved in the field of artificial intelligence.More greeds to his elbows for making we Africans, especially Nigerians proud, may God continue to use you as you lead us the up-coming generation in the world of the fifth generayion computers.

Dear Dr. Emeagwali, I am an American of African descent originally from Natchez, Mississippi. I accidently found your website while surfing. To say the least, your deeds and words are fantastic! Your contributions to the internet and supercomputers were completely unknown to me! This is unusual since I consider myself a student of African history. How could a person of your stature go unnoticed by the

"educated"? I presently reside in Albany, Georgia, a town of 100,000 200 miles southwest of Atlanta. Here, an organization formed in 1982 by Dr. Rex Ajayi, the African Heritage Association, has attempted to bring to the forefront issues involving the African and its diaspora. The organization consists of individuals of African descent, including Nigerians, (Igbo and Yoruba and others), Kenyans, Ghanaians, Sierra Leonians, Cameroonians, and African Americans, etc... Despite this contact, I was not introduced to your giant accomplishments! During Black History Month, we usually meet with children to highlight African accomplishments and achievements. Next year, I will surely highlight you. Thank you again for this website and its many articles. I've enjoyed reading the address for Black History Month and The Future of the Internet (very interesting and scary!) May God continue to bless you and your family! May we all become ONE! Devell R. I also want to commend your pretty wife and promising children who have been of great source of inspiration to your and your career.

Hello Emeagwali, One yoruba adage says "Ba gunyan ninu odo eni mayo ayo" I refer to this adage b'cos despite the fact that Nigerian leaders abandon what they suppose to do we still have a nigerian as the father of computer in the world. You have brought a great name to our nation. But I guess bcos u are black the white are not celebrating you but we know u are precious. I'm into IT here in nigeria even when there is no good market for our product. afo
