Additional Support - Please identify any additional support (cash or in-kind) that will be provided by other sources. Additional support will not be required. Summary - Provide a summary of 700 characters or less describing your proposed work. Please write in a manner in which you would be comfortable allowing the Zeta Foundation to use on its website to describe your project. A team of 5th grade teachers will lead a study group of differentiation amongst groups of students in their classrooms and in addition differentiation of language learners in the Bilingual classroom. They will discuss and propose ways of targeting the students based on their data from this year and years past.

Describe the professional development plan. What are your goals in this learning? What learning resources do you plan to use? Do not exceed 3500 characters. In order to meet the needs of these students, teachers will gather information of various activities that can be implemented to target different needs and also target language learners and their levels of English acquisition.

Our goals are to come up with various lessons and activities that are unique and hands-on in order to engage students and meet their needs. Some of the learning resources we will use would be books on differentiating lessons, websites for educators that can give ideas and insights on targeting low-performing content areas.

How, when, and where will the learning be accomplished? Do not exceed 3500 characters. The learning will be accomplished in the spring of the current school year and/or in the fall of the upcoming school year. It will take place on campus during staff development or PLC scheduled days.

How does the proposed professional development advance your professional goals? How does it advance your workplace goals? Do not exceed 3500 characters. The proposed professional development will advance our professional goals in that we will have more resources, more ideas, more funds to cover the costs of additional resources we will need to aim our instruction towards the students' different needs and different language levels of English. It will advance our workplace goals because we wil be that much closer to closing the gap that we have in our student learning. What is the need for this professional development? How did you and your colleagues assess the need? Please define need in terms of both student need and professional need by the applicant(s). Do not exceed 3500 characters. Our need is due to our student data and how students lack the basic skills coming in to a new grade level. My colleagues and I came up with this need due to the data we studied of our students. Our campus has a high percent of students who are labeled At-Risk and Economically Disadvantaged, which means much of our population is in need of resources to target low performing student expectations.

How will this project continue beyond the grant period? How will you continue sharing the knowledge gained in this project? Describe sharing in relation to your colleagues, students, and administrators. Do not exceed 3500 characters. The project will continue beyond the grant period because we will share our work with other colleagues and provide insight into our project with results and any areas we needed to fix or change. We will implement our staff development right away to other colleagues on campus, to our administrators and aim towards our students.
