Elimination of waste / tissues Unheated air that removes water from the hands, drying them hygienically in just 12 seconds Costs up to 69% less to run than other hand dryers and up to 97% less than paper towels1 Produces 4.0g of CO2 per dry - up to 74% less than other hand dryers and up to 71% less than paper towels² Wash & dry hands in the sink area, no slip and fall risk with excess water on ward floors HEPA filter removes 99.9% or particles the size of bacteria Touch-free operation NSF approved Robust 304 grade stainless steel construction 5 year guarantee

A new era for basic hygiene and infection control on hospital wards & in wash rooms Wall mounted Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer sink Stainless steel hygienic ward sinks featuring Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers. This is an innovative new in-sink tap featuring a hand dryer which eliminates water on the floor. With conventional wash room methods, hands can be both warm and not fully dry. Damp hands can spread up to 1,000 times more bacteria to the surfaces they touch. Touch free operation of this ward hand wash sink further increases hygiene levels. The TECHNIK Medical Ward Sink can be specified from 1 to 4 user stations. The sink can also be specified in Antimicrobial Copper. Wall Mounted Sink

The carbon calculations were produced using GaBi software provided by PE International, based on product use over 5 years and using the US as a representative country of use. Dry times for products were evaluated using DTM 769.

STOP THE SPREAD OF

HCAIs

MRSA Staphylococcus aureus

Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE)

E. coli O157:H7

Deadly healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) are a major threat in European hospitals, as bacteria have grown to resist many of today’s antibiotics. Learn about an additional line of defence that goes further than hand washing—Antimicrobial Copper.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa Enterobacter aerogenes

Copper - proven efficacy against HCAI-causing pathogens

THE CRISIS: PEOPLE ARE DYING

This causes 37,000 deaths and contributes towards a further 110,0001 1

In European hospitals,

1 in 14

patients develops an HCAI 1

That's 4 million people each and every year 1

= 14,700

THE REALITY: MORE COULD BE DONE

And fewer than 40% of healthcare workers adhere to hand hygiene? 3

Did you know that 80% of infectious diseases are spread by touch? 2

THE SCIENCE: COPPER IMPROVES PATIENT SAFETY

Unlike disinfectants 24/7 and hand washing, Antimicrobial Copper surfaces act continuously, reducing >90% of HCAI-causing bacteria.4

Antimicrobial Copper has been proven to reduce HCAIs by 58% in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).5 Given that over 6 million patients are admitted to the ICU annually,6, 7 this means hundreds of thousands of infections could be prevented and tens of thousands of lives spared.

58%

THE IMPACT COULD BE EVEN GREATER BEYOND THE ICU.

TECHNIK Medical - Surgical Scrub Sink Manufactured from Antimicrobial Copper

Within the medical and healthcare industries infections cost society thousands of lives and billions of pounds each year. Antimicrobial Copper has been developed to help reduce these figures. The surface material of this sink is scientifically proven to kill greater than 99.9% of bacteria within two hours and is the only solid antimicrobial surface approved by the EPA.

The Latest Scrub sink utilising Antimicrobial Copper, Which could help to combat the rising number of vulnerable patients contracting diseases such as MRSA.

Antimicrobial Copper Scrub Sink With Delabie BIOFIL Filter Tap Ergonomically designed to the requirements and standards of HTM 64. This user friendly, spacious equipment is specifically designed for surgeons, anaesthetists and ODP’s to use as a scrub sink. Utilising the benefits of Antimicrobial Copper with the features of Delabie medical taps. This new design improves surface and water borne hygiene and could help with infection control. Wall Mounted Sink

TECHNIK Medical also manufacture other touch surfaces in this unique material; such as door pushes, tables, trays, door handles and many other commonly touched surfaces.

Water Controls for Hospitals and Healthcare Water, essential for hygiene, can also be a source of infection if its quality is not controlled. The proliferation of bacteria (Legionella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc) in the water supply or in mixers and taps may cause serious infections, especially for vulnerable people. DELABIE has a multitude of solutions for water borne infection control.

Delabie - Water Borne Hygiene Features BIOSAFE, hygiene and infection control Pseudomonas aeruginosa mostly contaminates mixers and taps at the terminal, i.e. inside the spout and its outlet. As a result, this part of the mixer/tap should be the subject of special attention in order to limit bacterial development. To this end, DELABIE has designed specialist controls that facilitate preventative action and, if necessary, curative action if contamination occurs.

BIOSAFE hygienic spout outlet This new spout outlet is innovative because its internal surface is smooth, providing nowhere for scale to adhere. Made from Hostaform® (scale-resistant material) the BIOSAFE spout outlet reduces the emergence and spread of bacteria and germs in damp conditions. They can only be installed on a mixer or tap that already has a restricted flow rate to ensure a good flow with no splashing.

BIOFIL water filter spout for 62 days maximum Model No: 30040P.10P BIOFIL antibacterial filters guarantee bacteriologically controlled water at the pointof-use and protect the user’s well-being. Each BIOFIL filter incorporates a hollow fibre membrane, which has a water filtration threshold of 0.2 microns absolute-rated. They deliver water free from microorganisms, providing total protection against water borne infection.

SMOOTH INTERIOR mixers and taps Most mixers have rough interiors. As a result, they provide niches where bacteria can adhere. All the internal parts of certain DELABIE mixers and taps are completely smooth, reducing biofilm attachment and making it easier to treat. A study in June 2010 by the BioPI laboratory and the Department for Biological Studies at Jules Verne University in Amiens showed that under constant conditions, mixers and taps with smooth interiors have Pseudomonas aeruginosa contamination levels 14 times lower than those mixers and taps with rough bodies.

DUTY FLUSH, electronic controls Stagnant water is one of the main causes of bacterial development in water systems. To prevent water stagnation in mixers and taps, all DELABIE’s electronic controls are programmed with a periodic duty flush to prevent bacterial proliferation. An automatic flush takes place for 60 seconds every 24 hours after the last use (certain models can be programmed). Thus bacteria don’t have time to develop.
