OFF THE TOURIST TRAIL Cambodia is a beautiful country on and off the tourist trail. Our first morning will see us checking a gorgeous sunrise over Angkor Wat off our bucket lists before quickly making our way off the beaten path to see rural Cambodia in all its splendor. Working with local guides who specialise in the areas around Siem Reap and Kampong Thom, we have put together an itinerary that will take us deep into the heart of the Tonle Sap region. We’ll explore local villages by jeep, bike and boat while interacting with the locals and crafting world class images of our encounters. Each day working with the best light, and Dylan and Etienne’s expertise, every participant will return home with memories and story telling photographs like no other.

SMALL GROUPS We believe that one on one instruction and individualised mini sessions are the key to getting the most out of any workshop. We’ll be limiting this workshop to 10 participants, meaning that each person will get a large amount of personalised instruction each day. Etienne and Dylan involve every one of their students in every session, and strive to ensure everyone gets not only the experience of a lifetime at the destination, but learns the tools to capture that experience and take it home. This tour is not a group lecture. You will not be tagging along watching Etienne and Dylan shoot. You’ll be shooting with us, we’ll be shooting with you.

DYLAN

ACTIVELY IMPROVING IS OUR MISSION

Dylan’s experience in the editorial world led him into photojournalism and travel photography.

Both Etienne and Dylan have extensive experience, having taught hundreds of workshops between them. Our goal is to improve our participants’ photography actively. Everything we do is hands on, no theories that go unused. We have mini-workshops planned for each and every day of the tour, but we are always tailoring these workshops to you and your needs. As we get a feel for each participant’s level, we tailor our mini-workshops, and offer individual support so that everyone can participate in every session. The end goal? Better photographs and better traveling. It’s that simple.

ETIENNE Five years, countless S.E Asia photography tours and over 3,000 successful students ago, Etienne Bossot set up his camera in Hoi An, Central Vietnam and like many artists before him was seduced by the unique clarity of light, romanic scenery and charismatic characters and their customs. The SE Asia Photography Tours were born of a combination of Etienne’s passion to discover ways of studying authentic populations in their living environment, his wealth of local knowledge and his uncompromising integrity. He has a canny eye for scouting out unique settings, locations and photo opportunities and an uncanny way of getting subjects to engage.

He formed Flash Light Photography Expeditions with Flash Parker in 2010, and has since taught more than 20 successful workshops on small flash and portrait photography in Seoul, and two travel-portfolio tours in Chiang Mai with South East Asia Backpacker Magazine. His honest, relaxed teaching style puts students of all levels at ease, and gets the best out of everyone. And his love for people and their ways of life draws him into places and situations that may otherwise be overlooked. For Dylan, there is nothing greater than getting to the heart and soul of a person. The camera is his ticket, and he loves to share that passion.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

In all our tours we strive to make things easy so everyone can focus entirely on photography. This is the reason why our rates include everything during the tour: accommodation, transportation, all meals, and even tips to local people. Basically you can spend the whole tour with us and not have to spend another dollar.

We have several different workshops planned for this tour, and you’ll need to pack accordingly.

What is not included is your international flight, Visa, travel insurance, alcoholic beverages and souvenir purchase.

One of our workshops focusses on off camera flash, so if you have a speedlite, bring it along.

ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORTATION We’ll be staying in comfortable 3 star hotels close to our locations for the duration of the tour, and traveling between locations by minivan or in the case of villages by boat or on foot.

We’ll also be shooting some landscapes and long exposures, so a tripod is a must.

COSTS

A range of lenses from 24mm to 100mm is also recommended to get the most out of every workshop.

Below are the costs per person for this tour. Please drop either Etienne or Dylan an email to book this tour.

For the critique sessions, don’t forget a laptop or tablet to show your images from the tour. Also, as we’re focussing on the people of South East Asia, pack a few extra smiles. The go a long way.
