Through the Pastor’ Window Book of Revelation! Singing! Prayer! What do these three things have in common? Well, many things, now that I think about it. Upper most in my mind is that all three will be happening on Thursday evenings here at EUMC for six weeks between April 14 and May 19. Here is what I am proposing we do for each Thursday meeting during those 6 weeks. 6:30 – 7:20 Bible study focused on the Book of Revelation 7:30 - ??? Prayer and Singing During the Bible study we will consider the first 11 chapters of the Book of Revelation. As we study Revelation, we will resist the temptation to try and name the Antichrist; neither will we try and determine a date for the Second Coming. Revelation has something to say to every church in every age as the writer examines things going on in the seven church’s located in first-century Asia. Jesus had something he wanted those seven churches to hear, Jesus’ message to them still applies to our churches in this day and age. Following our study, there will be a time of singing and prayer. Note the schedule above. You are invited to participate in one or both parts of Thursday evening. We will try and be honest to the time; beginning the study promptly at 6:30 so that we can get through the lesson and be ready to sing by 7:30. Singing will focus on upon learning and becoming more familiar with new songs. Moments for prayer time will be intercessory in, praying for needs of yourself and others. I will bring my Bible and my guitar. I need you to bring your questions, prayers, voices and any instruments you would like to play. You may be asking “what about chapters 12 – 22 of the Book of Revelation?” Answer: I hope people are interested enough in this first 6 week study to help me determine when to offer a second six week study focused on Revelation’s remaining chapters. And, yes, there is a recommended study guide. Revelation: Unlocking the Mysteries of the End Times by Bruce Bickel and Stan Jantz. If I order 10 or more, I can get the guide for about $7 per copy. Call the church office, or sign up on Sunday mornings so I can know how many copies to order. God’s Peace, Pastor Norman

The EUMC now has three ways to have your requests lifted to the LORD in prayer :

The Morning Prayer group – meets every Thursday, 7:00 am at Gene & Karen Bass’ home (8328 N. Cemetery Road). All are welcome to join us. The Prayer Chain – your request will be sent out by e-mail to members who pray individually in their homes. Requests can be put in the offering plate during worship, called or emailed to the church office or Pastor Norman. These requests are kept confidential. The Prayer Card Ministry – lets others know we care about and are praying for them. If you would like a Prayer Card sent to someone: Call the office and a card will be prepared for the next Sunday. The card will be at the back of the sanctuary on Sunday morning for people to sign. The signers then pray for that person(s) at worship & during the week. After service the card will be mailed to the person(s) we are praying for.
