OFTEN COPIED, NEVER EQUALLED. There has only ever been one Golf GTI. Now in its seventh generation, the GTI remains true to itself, still retaining its iconic detail – the ‘Black’ honeycomb radiator and front air intake grilles, side skirts and gleaming chrome ‘GTI’ badge – but now with a modern twist. Like the traditional red stripe that now extends into the Bi-xenon headlights. Not to mention faster acceleration, unprecedented power and exhilarating performance. The Golf GTI – prepare to be amazed.

Please note: Model shown is the Golf GTI with equipment in European specification.

The Golf GTI 02-03

THE FIGURES ADD UP TO ONE THING. EXHILARATION.

The Golf GTI takes the laws of mechanics and turns them upside down. And if you don’t believe it, take a look at the figures. With the standard 220 PS engine the Golf GTI is propelled from 0-62mph in just 6.5 seconds, And that’s not all. With a six-speed DSG gearbox, it achieves 6.4L/100km, representing a massive 13.5% improvement over the previous model. Now that’s what you call impressive.

The Golf GTI 04-05

THE GOLF GTI. THREE LETTERS. ONE HUGE SUCCESS STORY. Planned in 1976 as a special edition of just 5,000 cars, the GTI attracted huge interest and rapidly achieved iconic status. Today, in its seventh generation, it reinterprets GTI styling with 18 inch ‘Austin’ alloy wheels, ‘Red’ brake calipers, lowered sports suspension, unique ‘GTI’ badging and Black ‘Vienna’ leather upholstery with red stitching that shows unmistakably where it began. And a powerful 2.0 litre TSI 220 PS engine that shows where it wants to go.

FEEL THE ADRENALIN RUSH. The excitement you’ll feel behind the wheel means you’ll need to be wide awake when driving the GTI. So it’s just as well your adrenalin is pumping before you even start, thanks to its sporty design with unique ‘GTI’ styling pack, ‘smoked’ LED rear lights and ‘Black’ rear diffuser with chrome exhaust tailpipe either side. And if that’s not enough, anticipating 350 Nm of torque, should do the trick.

Please note: Model shown is the Golf GTI with equipment in European specification.

The Golf GTI 06-07

THE GOLF GTI PERFORMANCE. The adrenalin pumping ‘GTI Performance’ features a 230PS engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, larger brake discs with ‘GTI’ logo on front calipers, mechanical limited slip differential, and Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) adjustable damping suspension, is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 6.4 sec and reaching a top speed of 250km/h (where the law permits).

Please note: Model shown is the Golf GTI with equipment in European specification.

The Golf GTI 08-09

THE GOLF GTI. A SENSORY EXPERIENCE. The dashboard and controls of the GTI are sure to get your pulse racing. Black ‘Vienna’ leather upholstery, ‘Checkered black’ decorative inserts, red ambient lighting and stylish red stitching on the leather trimmed multifunction steering wheel and gear knob gaiter arouse your senses, while the deep hum of the engine, experienced as soon as you depress the stainless steel accelerator, ensures only one response. Pure, uninhibited excitement.

Please note: Model shown is the Golf GTI with equipment in European specification. All versions available in Hong Kong come standard with “Vienna” black leather upholstery and “Composition Media” audio system without navigation and without voice control feature.

01) The maximum power output figures are quoted in PS (or Pferdestärke, which is the metric equivalent of horsepower). To convert from metric to imperial horsepower, divide the PS figure by 1.0139. 02) Figures are calculated in accordance with manufacturer’s criteria. The individual unladen weight depends on the specification of the vehicle, this then reduces the possible payload accordingly. The unladen weight and payload both include the fuel tank 90% full, driver (68kg) and luggage (7kg) in line with EU directive 95/48. Unladen weight shown refers to 3-door models. The unladen weight of 5-door models will increase by 30kg. 03) With increasing altitude the engine performance diminishes. From 1,000m above sea level and for every 1,000m thereafter 10% of the vehicle/trailer weight (trailer) weight + gross vehicle weight) must be deducted. 04) The size of the fuel tank is approximate and therefore it may be possible to add a greater amount of fuel than the size of the tank specified, due to the space in the filler neck. 05) Fuel consumption and CO2 figures are obtained under standardised EU test conditions (Directive 93/116/EEC). This allows a direct comparison between different manufacturer models but may not represent the actual fuel consumption achieved in ‘real world’ driving conditions. More information is available on the Volkswagen web site at www.volkswagen.co.uk and at www.vca.gov.org. 06) The weight of a vehicle will influence the level of CO2 emission it produces; as a result, vehicles with higher levels of specification and factory-fitted options may emit higher levels of CO2.
