construction

The Air Handling Unit framework is constructed from a closed aluminium box section with heavy duty injection moulded ABS black nylon knock in corner pieces. This high density and lightweight structure ensures a strong and rigid framework for the Air Handling Unit.

Depending upon site access all of our Air Handling Units can be supplied as follows:-

Depending upon the project requirements panels can be either 25mm or 50mm thick. Panels are constructed from a galvanised sheet steel inner skin with a plastisol coated or galvanised sheet steel outer skin with mineral wool insulation sandwiched between the sheets. Our standard plastisol colour is Goosewing Grey RAL10A05, other colours are available on request.

• Dry built – Sections will be delivered to site in a dry built form, fully assembled and suitable for dismantling to component form if required due to restricted access.

Our standard mineral wool insulation has a density of 60kg/m3. Insulation with a greater density is available on request. Each complete unit or modular section would be factory assembled on a full perimeter galvanised or aluminium base to ensure full structural stability. All externally mounted units would be fully sealed and completed with an overhanging pitched roof to prevent water ingress.

• Modular sections – Delivered to site complete and ready for bolting and sealing.

• Component form – Each AHU section is dismantled at our factory to manageable pieces with top and bottom panel sections complete, with base frame and roof fitted and components packaged within their sections. Each section is separated and dismantled with a number, letter and colour code and section specific. • Fully assembled – All sections are bolted, sealed and mounted on to a common base frame complete with lifting points. Our highly qualified and experienced site operatives would complete any dismantling, distribution to the plant area and re-assembly of the Air Handling Unit

Refrigeration Pipe Work

All of our Mr Slim and City Multi range of condensing/ heat pump units can be matched to our Air Handling Units and Controls systems to complete the package in line with our ‘One Stop Shop’ philosophy.

Installation of the interconnecting refrigeration pipe work between the Air Handling Unit and Air Conditioning Unit would be completed using our qualified engineers fitting refrigeration quality copper tubing, fittings and all good refrigeration practices. After installation the pipe work would be evacuated, pressure and leak tested, charged with R410a refrigerant and commissioned. All of this work would be carried out after the equipment has been positioned on site as part of our Plant Movement service; however it may be carried out at our factory if the equipment is being supplied and delivered on a single piece base frame.

At the enquiry stage the sales engineer will discuss your requirements and ensure that all of the equipment we select is correctly matched and will provide the duty your project needs. We utilise up to date design methods to suit each application, project size and type. This includes computerised design packages, computer aided design solutions and selection of plant. For duties up to 90kW an inverter driven R410a refrigerant condensing or heat pump unit would be matched to the requirements of the cooling or heat pump coil. Each condensing or heat pump unit would be complete with an inverter driven compressor, linear expansion valve and AHU controller.

Our installation engineers are renowned for their thoroughness and straightforward approach. Our goal is to ensure that you avoid disruption and that works are finished to your complete satisfaction. Part of that approach is making sure that you are fully conversant with your system and how it will provide you with effective climate control and controlled energy costs.

For duties above 90kW an R410a refrigerant condensing unit utilising scroll compressor technology would be selected to match the requirements of the cooling coil. Each condensing unit would be complete with scroll compressor(s), microprocessor control, compressor fuses and a mains isolator. These energy efficient systems will provide a comfortable controllable environment with low noise, low running costs and minimal maintenance.

the strength is in control. Our Titanium Controls are powerful, flexible, user-friendly and specifically designed to provide a total control solution for Air Handling and Conditioning systems.

titanium controls As part of our ‘One Stop Shop’ facility all of our ranges of Air Handling Units can be supplied complete with our Titanium Controls solution which is powerful, flexible, user-friendly and specifically designed to provide a complete control solution for Air Handling and Conditioning Systems. We strive to maintain a position at the forefront of technology, and have developed considerable expertise in the supply of Titanium Control systems which are used on our Air Handling and Conditioning systems. We are committed to offering the very best the industry has to offer in terms of service, performance and state-of-the-art technology and we pride ourselves on our reputation of providing outstanding levels of service for over 30 years. As control system professionals we are pleased to advise, recommend or assist in any control system application. A control system is only as good as its direct digital controller programming, commissioning and client training. These processes can never be rushed or shortcut. We always endeavour to put the time and effort in these areas to ensure effective, economic and easy to use control system performance.

At the heart of our Titanium Control solution is the fully programmable direct digital controller which is housed within an IP54 enclosed panel. This panel is usually mounted on the air handling unit but can be provided loose for remote mounting if required. Should the equipment be mounted external to the building the panel will be housed within an IP65 weatherproof enclosure. Most buildings have a Building Management System and interface with the system is easily achieved via many of the most commonly used serial communication standards. Using our optional boards Titanium Controls has the facility to support many protocols; these include Modbus; LonWorks; BACnet and SNMP. Our qualified engineers would install all interconnecting control wiring external to the Air Handling Unit along agreed routes and with the agreement of the Electrical Services Sub Contractor. Modern control systems do maintain themselves but ensuring and retaining optimum performance is not guaranteed. We therefore offer Service and Maintenance contracts, these services are offered on non-ECE Titanium Control systems as well as those we have installed ourselves.
