Named Overlander and 4x4 Australia Magazines Best Compact SUV for the last 2 years running, Grand Vitara still ends up first among SUVs.

Genuine off-road ability. Unlike the “soft roaders” that try to compete with it, the Suzuki Grand Vitara is a 4x4 with genuine off-road capability. So no matter how far off the beaten track your adventures take you, the Grand Vitara will get you there, safely and in complete comfort. 4 mode 4x4 The Grand Vitara’s 4-mode 4x4 system transmits power to all four wheels at all times, ensuring positive traction regardless of road surface. A switch built into the centre console lets you quickly and easily change modes between 4H for most driving conditions, 4H Lock for serious off-roading, 4L Lock for extreme surface conditions, and N (neutral) mode.

Fully independent suspension Features front MacPherson struts and rear multi-link geometry, complementing the “Built-in Ladder Frame” and decreasing body noise while increasing on-road response and off-road handling.

Ladder Frame Chassis With its “Built in Ladder Frame” increasing rigidity and durability without significantly adding to overall weight, the monocoque body with integral frame also reduces noise. This lightweight, one piece body also reduces overall and floor heights, increasing cabin space despite its high ground clearance.

Inside your comfort zone. While Grand Vitara’s interior is well matched to the sporty exterior, its refined cabin design suits a fun-loving lifestyle and places all the creature comforts at your fingertips. Improved noise reduction Noise-reducing and vibration-absorbing materials have been extensively used throughout the Grand Vitara. These measures, together with the body engineering and the rigid ladder frame chassis enhance the comfort of all occupants and increase the all-round driving pleasure under a variety of driving conditions.

Electronic Stability Program All Grand Vitara models are equipped with ‘Electronic Stability Program’ (ESP) technology, an advanced safety function which helps the driver regain control of a sliding vehicle. ESP is a computer controlled technology which uses inbuilt sensors to automatically apply braking to individual wheels. This quickly helps restore correct road alignment as soon as any loss of vehicle control is detected.

Airbag Protection Dual front SRS airbags and head-impact protection built into all pillars and upper cabin surfaces helps reduce head injuries in the unlikely event of an accident.

New levels of safety. The Grand Vitara is designed with new levels of protection for every passenger. With dual front, side and curtain airbags now standard across the range, everyone can be safely cocooned in a world of total comfort. ESP and ABS with EBD (a system that transfers brake torque between axles) is also standard on every model in the Grand Vitara range.

Hill Hold Descent and Hill Hold Control During off road driving conditions, Hill Descent Control allows for a smooth and controlled hill descent, without the driver needing to operate the brake pedal. Hill Hold Control prevents unintentional roll-back on hill starts (only available on Grand Vitara Prestige V6). Overseas model shown.

A Monster Performance No one has taken the capabilities of the Grand Vitara further than our own “Monster” Tajima. With his heavily modified Grand Vitara he has made a name for himself in rally sprints and hill climb events all round the world. It’s testament to the ruggedness and capability that comes with Suzuki’s racing and rally heritage.

Peak power, peak performance. Effortless power with instant response. This is where the powerful 3.2 litre V6 and 2.4 litre engines will take you in the Grand Vitara. Both engines feature advanced variable valve timing (VVT) for increased power and torque. Couple this with outstanding fuel efficiency of just 8.9 litres per 100km* for the 2.4 litre model, and 10.5 litres per 100km* for the V6 model, and it’s a very powerful argument as to why the Grand Vitara offers peak performance.

2.4-litre VVT Fuel Efficient Power As soon as your foot hits the pedal you’ll be impressed with the power of Grand Vitara’s 2.4 litre VVT engine. Equally impressive is the fuel efficiency, with the Grand Vitara being more economical than most compact SUV competitors. Coupled with either a five-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic, the Grand Vitara is smooth in the city and exhilarating on the highway.

Beyond the City. The spirited 3-door Grand Vitara has an appetite for endless fun, it cuts through the tightest city with ease. But when on the open road, the lively 2.4 litre VVT coupled to either manual or automatic transmissions positively purrs with delight. With the full-time 4WD system, climate control air conditioning, ESP with traction control, front, side & curtain airbags, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD and mp3 compatible CD player with steering wheel controls – they all add up to an enjoyable drive.

The Grand Vitara Diesel delivers an impressive fuel economy of 7.0 litres per 100km*, with a common rail, Direct Diesel injection System (DDiS) Turbocharged diesel engine. With maximum torque of 300Nm at 2,000 RPM, it provides real grunt for true 4x4 performance. The Electronic Stability Program with Traction Control helps to reduce the risk of losing vehicle control when driving on-road, while providing extra grip for any off-road adventure you choose. *ADR 81/02 results. V6 Power The Prestige offers a 2.4 litre VVT engine as well as a powerful 3.2 litre V6 which produces outstanding performance, generating 165 kW of power and up to 284Nm of torque.
