REGISTRATION, BALLOTS AND INTERACTIVE HANDSETS Registration will take place as from 07:30 on Thursday 13 October 2016, on the front veranda of the Spartan Room. Changes in the composition of a delegation must be communicated in writing before or during registration. Delegates will receive and sign for their ballots during registration. Lost ballots will not be replaced. For interactive participation in the conference delegates will receive and sign for interactive handsets at registration.

ORDER RULES • The sequence of discussions will be determined by the chair. • Persons who are not delegates may provide input with the chairman’s permission. • Participants not listed in the progrmmme are limited to a speaking opportunity of five minutes. • Speakers are requested to submit their speeches in writing as well as electronicaly to the administration office, preferably before or directly after presentation thereof. • For media and reporting purposes, we would appreciate it if you could provide Agri SA with such speeches per email before the congress, or during the congress on a memory stick.
ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS Persons who make themselves available for any of the following positions should sign the prescribed nomination form, together with the proposer and seconder. • President • Deputy-presidents • Chairman and management of Agri SA’s General Affairs Chamber • Chairman and management of Agri SA’s Commodity Chamber
INTERPRETATION SERVICE An interpretation service from Afrikaans to English will be available. Persons who wish to make use of this service can collect the earphones at the interpretation cubicle at the front of the Spartan Room.
LUNCH ARRANGEMENTS Guests and delegates are invited to a finger lunch on 13 October 2016 in the Salonica Room. A cash bar will be available.
INFORMAL FUNCTION Delegates, guests and partners who indicated that they will attend the function, are invited to a function sponsored by Santam Agriculture on 13 October 2016 at 18:15 in the Asteria Room, Saint George Hotel & Conference Centre. A cash bar will be available.

Theme 4: Competing demands on agricultural land
Congress will interrogate existing legislation available, especially to DAFF, aimed at the development and protection of agricultural land. A policy framework and legal dispensation are required to ensure a balanced approach when competing utilisation of land amongst sectors in the economy becomes imminent or rehabilitation of land is required.
