THE CITY OF FLORISSANT GOLDEN AGE DISCOUNT PROGRAM BUSINESS DIRECTORY 2014-2016 The Florissant Senior Citizen Office offers a wonderful opportunity for residents over the age of 60 to take advantage of the “Golden Age Discount Program.” This program is designed to give Florissant Senior Citizens a special discount at participating Florissant Businesses. These businesses and their discounts are listed in this booklet. Senior Residents need to present their current Florissant Resident Picture ID Card in order to obtain this discount. FLORISSANT SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS Senior Citizens, 60 years of age and older, with a current Florissant Resident Card can take advantage of the many activities offered by the City of Florissant. Listed below are some of the services and programs that are offered. If you have any questions, please call the Senior Office at 314-839-7604. BUS TRANSPORTATION: Free bus transportation is available anywhere within the City Limits of Florissant. Reservations for transportation may be made between the hours of 8:30am and 12:00pm by calling 839-1776. CLUBS: The City of Florissant offers the following Specialty Clubs: ♦ Bingo Clubs: Monday Club—meets every Monday, Eagan Center, 11:30— 2:30 Wednesday Club—meets every Wednesday, Eagan Center, 11:30—2:30 ♦ Card Clubs: Pinochle Club—meets every Tuesday, JFK Center, 7:00—9:00pm Bridge Club—meets every Friday, Eagan Center, 10:30—3:00pm ♦ Line Dancing Club: meets every Wednesday, Eagan Center, 12:30—2:00pm ♦ Silver Words Club (W idows/Widowers, OR Divorced or Single Seniors): meets the second Thursday of each month from 1:30—3:30pm at the JFK Center with a meeting, speaker, entertainment or trip. DINING CENTER: Complete meals are served Monday through Friday for only $5.00 per person. Come enjoy Bingo, Doozles Day, Crafts, Game Days, and Parties. The Florissant Bus is available to take any Resident to and from the Dining Center. INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE: AARP Volunteers prepare basic returns for senior citizens 60 and older with an income of $52,000.00 or less. Appointments are taken in the middle of January for preparation beginning February through April. SENIOR ACTIVITIES: Themed Parties, Dances, and Speaking Events are held throughout the year.
